The air was thick with the stench of death and burning rubble as General Viktor 'Bloodfang' Kruger walked through the remnants of the bunker, his blood-soaked combat knife still dripping onto the cracked concrete. The last human stronghold in this region had fallen, and no resistance remained. He had crushed hope itself.
Kruger stopped before a steel-reinforced door, riddled with bullet holes but still standing. The dim green glow of a cracked security panel flickered weakly beside it. He stared at it for a moment before pressing his massive, gloved hand against the cold metal.
"You feel that?" Kruger muttered, his voice laced with amusement.
Behind him, Sergeant Darius 'Hellhound' Rook stepped forward, resting his shotgun on his shoulder. "Feel what, boss?"
Kruger smirked. "The fear."
From the other side of the door, muffled breathing and frantic whispers betrayed the presence of survivors. He could hear the panicked prayers, the desperate attempts to reload weapons with shaking hands.
They knew their time was up.
Eva 'Black Widow' Morales flicked one of her daggers between her fingers, her crimson lips curling in delight. "Should we break them slowly or let them watch each other die?"
Kruger tilted his head, considering her words, then placed one hand on the door and drove his bloodied fist through it with terrifying force. The steel bent inward with a sickening screech. A chorus of screams erupted from inside.
With a single pull, he ripped the door off its hinges and tossed it aside like paper. "We don't play with rats. We exterminate them."
Inside, a handful of desperate survivors aimed their weapons, but their terror made them slow. Hellhound fired first, his shotgun obliterating the closest soldier into a mess of bone and gore. Black Widow vanished into the shadows, reappearing behind a screaming woman and slitting her throat with surgical precision.
Kruger charged straight into the chaos, catching a resistance fighter's rifle mid-aim and crushing his wrist in one brutal motion. The man howled in pain, but Kruger silenced him by grabbing his head and smashing it against the wall until there was nothing left but blood and bone.
Only one remained—a trembling scientist clutching a tablet. Dr. Sylvia "Plague Mistress" Voss strode forward and grabbed the device from his hands, scanning the data with intrigue. "Interesting… They were working on an antidote."
Kruger loomed over the cowering scientist, who stammered, "P-please… I can help… I—"
Crunch. Kruger's boot came down hard, crushing the scientist's skull like an overripe fruit. He wiped the blood from his gloves and turned to Voss.
The screen of the tablet shattered under her heel. The last hope of humanity was erased.
As Kruger strode forward, his elite soldiers following behind, the world of the living continued to fade into oblivion.
