Dim emergency lights flickered along the cracked concrete walls of the abandoned military bunker, casting jagged shadows that twisted and danced like specters. General Viktor "Bloodfang" Kruger moved through the wreckage, his combat knife dripping with fresh gore. Behind him, the bodies of Wolfe's failed abominations lay twitching—half-dead, half-conscious, but wholly broken.
Kruger's red beret, now soaked in grime and war, sat perfectly in place. His posture was unwavering, his steps deliberate. He was a predator on the hunt.
A distorted voice crackled through his earpiece. Sergeant Darius "Hellhound" Rook.
"Sir, you need to fall back. Wolfe's got the entire lower sector rigged to blow!"
Kruger smirked, wiping his blade against his sleeve. "Then I better not waste time."
Before Rook could respond, a guttural snarl echoed through the corridor. Not human. Not undead. Something in between.
Kruger turned just as a monstrous figure lunged at him from the shadows. It was one of Wolfe's new creations—a heavily modified Flesh Revenant with reinforced muscle tissue and crude cybernetic implants. Its glowing, dead eyes locked onto Kruger as it raised a grotesquely oversized blade-arm.
A split-second reaction. Kruger dodged, rolling under the strike, his knife already in motion.
Steel met rotting flesh. One, two, three brutal slashes. The creature staggered but didn't fall.
Kruger frowned. "You things are getting cocky."
Before it could swing again, he drove his combat knife straight into its skull, twisting violently. A sickening crunch followed. It stopped laughing.
The Revenant slumped to the floor. Kruger exhaled, eyes still locked ahead.
Then he heard it—slow, deliberate footsteps.
From the darkness emerged Colonel Adrian Wolfe. His once-human form had decayed beyond recognition, veins bulging black with corruption. His body was riddled with cybernetic modifications, his arms reinforced with plated armor. In his grasp was a serrated combat machete, still dripping from previous kills.
Kruger cracked his neck. "Took you long enough."
Wolfe grinned, his voice like rusted metal. "You've fought my failures. Now fight the perfected form."
Kruger lunged first. A blur of motion, a flash of steel. Wolfe countered instantly, parrying with monstrous strength. Sparks flew.
The two warriors clashed, knife against blade, raw power against relentless precision. They were the last of their kind—soldiers beyond life and death, consumed by war.
The bunker trembled as explosions detonated in the lower levels. Time was running out.
Kruger snarled. "Let's end this."
Wolfe's grin widened. "Agreed."
