General Viktor "Bloodfang" Kruger stood amidst the wreckage of yet another fallen resistance stronghold, his expression void of emotion. The rebels had fought hard, but it had been in vain—like all the others before them.
Behind him, the moans of the undead mingled with the crackling of flames. His reanimated soldiers stood motionless, awaiting his next command, their rotting faces frozen in eternal servitude. Among them, a fresh wave of infected corpses twitched, their bodies adjusting to their new existence.
Kruger wiped the blood from his combat knife, his crimson beret untouched by the filth surrounding him. Another mission, another victory. He holstered the blade, turning toward the towering figure approaching him—Baron "Grave Titan" Kane.
Kane's massive frame was caked in gore, his armor dented from combat. "We've secured the perimeter. Any stragglers were… dealt with." His voice was a deep growl, satisfaction laced in every word.
Kruger nodded. "And the objective?"
Kane smirked. "Secured."
From the shadows, Eva "Black Widow" Morales emerged, dragging a bound prisoner behind her. The man—an officer from the remnants of the human resistance—struggled weakly against his restraints, his face battered, his uniform stained with sweat and dirt.
Kruger crouched before the captive, his piercing gaze meeting the man's defiant eyes. "Tell me, Captain," he murmured, his voice eerily calm. "Was it worth it? The sacrifices? The lives lost?"
The officer spat at Kruger's feet. "You think you've won? You're just a monster playing king of the ashes."
Kruger chuckled, shaking his head. "No, Captain. I am simply the architect of a new world—one where the weak are replaced, and the strong endure."
He straightened, turning his back to the man. "Black Widow, show him what happens to those who defy me."
Eva grinned wickedly, drawing a serrated dagger from her belt. The officer thrashed, but there was no escape. The last thing he heard was Kruger's cold voice as he walked away.
"Burn the rest. We march at dawn."
The undead howled in the night, and the city burned.
