The Titan's claws dug into the crumbling overpass, sending chunks of concrete raining down. The survivors barely had time to react as the monstrosity pulled itself up, its glistening muscles expanding, veins bulging with unnatural strength.
Evelyn's heart pounded. They were out of time.
"Move!" Reaper barked, shoving Lucas forward.
The Titan lunged, its grotesque tongue whipping through the air, slicing through a rusted car like it was paper. Mia barely dodged, rolling under the wreckage as the overpass tilted dangerously.
Leon unsheathed his machete, eyes locked on the Titan. "We can't outrun this thing forever."
"No," Evelyn muttered, glancing at the half-collapsed buildings nearby. "But we can bury it."
Lucas caught on first. "You want to bring the whole damn overpass down?"
Reaper grinned. "Now that's a plan."
The Titan charged, its claws ripping through the pavement as it sprinted toward them with terrifying speed. The survivors split, scattering to the edges of the ruined highway. Bullets wouldn't stop this thing, but gravity might.
Mia climbed onto the rusted skeleton of an overturned truck. "We need to weaken the supports!"
Lucas nodded, pulling out an explosive charge from his pack. "Gonna need cover while I plant this."
Leon and Reaper stepped forward as the Titan closed the distance, its claws scraping against the concrete, sparks flying.
Reaper fired a shotgun blast straight into its exposed chest, but the shell barely penetrated.
Leon moved in low, dodging a swipe, and slashed his machete deep into its side. Black, steaming blood oozed out, and the Titan snarled, twisting unnaturally to swipe at him.
Lucas scrambled to place the charge. They had seconds.
Evelyn grabbed a metal pipe from the debris and sprinted toward the edge of the overpass. She jammed it into a weakened beam, trying to destabilize it further.
The Titan let out an ear-piercing shriek, its tongue stretching unnaturally toward Lucas—
Lucas detonated the charge. The explosion ripped through the weakened structure, sending a massive shockwave through the overpass.
Cracks splintered outward.
"RUN!" Evelyn screamed.
The survivors sprinted as the highway groaned, steel beams snapping. The Titan tried to leap forward, claws reaching— but the entire overpass gave way beneath it.
The monster let out a deafening roar as it plummeted into the abyss below, concrete and debris collapsing on top of it.
The survivors barely made it to stable ground, panting, covered in dust and sweat.
Mia peered over the edge, heart still racing. "Did we… did we kill it?"
A deep rumbling came from beneath the rubble.
Evelyn's stomach sank.
Reaper exhaled. "Oh, you've gotta be shitting me."
The debris shifted. Something was still moving underneath.
