How Kurama Leads Naruto Astray Chapter 39

The ground trembled, and the wind howled. At that moment, everyone, whether fighting Chunin, Jonin, or the intense battle between Sarutobi Hiruzen and Orochimaru on the rooftop, stopped and looked towards the distance.

The initial desert and giant wave had already drawn attention, but now, they couldn’t help but turn to look.

The next second, with a roar, a massive wind pressure hit. Everyone, whether Genin, Chunin, or Jonin, felt the wind pressure on their faces. Those who couldn’t react were blown away like broken bags, disappearing into the sky.

Those who reacted used defensive Ninjutsu or grabbed onto walls with chakra. Everyone’s faces showed shock as they looked towards the source of the wind pressure. The evil and terrifying chakra made them tremble uncontrollably.

Sarutobi Hiruzen and Orochimaru, being inside the Four Violet Flames Formation, were not affected by the wind pressure. They watched the walls outside shatter and the trees uproot with serious expressions. Sarutobi Hiruzen’s face grew even darker.

Orochimaru laughed coldly: "Sarutobi-sensei, this chakra, you should be familiar with it, right?"

Sarutobi Hiruzen was silent. How could he not be familiar? The owner of this chakra was the monster that almost destroyed Konohagakure twelve years ago. If it weren’t for Minato and Kushina, Konohagakure might not exist anymore.

For the first time, his eyes showed coldness and killing intent: "Orochimaru, what have you done?"

Orochimaru’s eyes lit up, as if seeing his old teacher again. He laughed even more happily, like a child finding a toy: "What are you talking about? You know, Shukaku, the Tailed Beast of Sunagakure, the One-Tailed Shukaku."

"You know what I’m talking about!" Sarutobi Hiruzen almost shouted.

With Jiraiya around, Sarutobi Hiruzen was worried about Shukaku but not too tense. He believed Jiraiya’s strength was enough to seal Shukaku. But now, he felt not Shukaku’s chakra, but the Nine-Tails, the Tailed Beast of Konohagakure!

Most ninjas didn’t know the power difference between Tailed Beasts, but as opponents,

Sunagakure and Konohagakure knew each other’s Tailed Beasts well.

Shukaku’s power could rival the Nine-Tails in the desert, but this was Konohagakure! No one knew the Nine-Tails’ strength better than the people of Konohagakure, not even Jiraiya could easily handle it.

This evil and violent chakra made all the Konohagakure ninjas recall the terror from twelve years ago.

Sarutobi Hiruzen gripped his staff tightly, his killing intent breaking through the Four Violet Flames Formation, making the Anbu outside feel it: "Orochimaru! I shouldn’t have let you go, shouldn’t have been soft-hearted... It’s my fault you became ."

"What’s the use of saying this now?" Orochimaru didn’t care at all, even controlling the First and Second Hokage to stop. "You are the teacher, you should be responsible for your students. But if the student abandons the teacher, does the teacher still need to be responsible?"

Yes, it wasn’t Konohagakure or Sarutobi Hiruzen who abandoned Orochimaru, but Orochimaru who abandoned Konohagakure and Sarutobi Hiruzen.

"I will correct my mistakes." As the storm gradually calmed, Sarutobi Hiruzen’s killing intent surged, "For Konohagakure! I will bury you myself."

"Hehehe... Hahaha..." Orochimaru laughed loudly, as if he had heard a funny joke, "Sensei, you are old. For Konohagakure, you are the one who should be buried."

"It doesn’t matter." Sarutobi Hiruzen didn’t care, "Before I go to hell, I will correct my mistakes."

He placed the staff beside him and looked at Orochimaru, his eyes sweeping over the First and Second Hokage: "I’m sorry, First and Second Hokage, please help this old man reduce Konohagakure’s burden one last time."

He formed hand seals.

Two Sarutobi Hiruzens appeared beside the original. The original Sarutobi Hiruzen didn’t hide his actions, and the three of them formed seals in front of Orochimaru.

Orochimaru’s smile disappeared. The seals made him feel uneasy, and his face darkened: "Old man, what are you doing?"

Even the fake politeness was gone.

The seals were completed, and Sarutobi Hiruzen smiled: "There is a jutsu, named a forbidden technique by Kushina. Because of its special nature, it wasn’t written in the sealing scroll. Now, I’m probably the only one in the ninja world who knows it."

"What?" Orochimaru’s face darkened.

"Sealing Jutsu: Reaper Death Seal!" With Sarutobi Hiruzen’s low shout, a figure Orochimaru couldn’t see appeared behind Sarutobi Hiruzen, eerie light reflecting on his face, "An unbreakable sealing jutsu, Orochimaru, let’s go to the Reaper’s belly together... and let me teach you properly once more."

Orochimaru’s face grew darker. He had never heard of this jutsu.

For some reason, the name of this jutsu made his unease grow stronger...

"Wow!" Naruto spat out blood. The fourth tail that was about to appear behind him slowly faded, and the other three tails also gradually disappeared. The fox cloak covering him vanished, and he returned to his normal state.

The only difference was the various wounds on his skin.

His weak body half-kneeled on the ground, blood flowing from his mouth, but he didn’t care. With a silly smile, he whispered, "Kurama, I... I held on..."

In the sealed space, Kurama nodded with a slight smile: "Honestly, I didn’t think you could withstand the negative emotions. I was ready to take back the chakra if you lost control, but... you did well."

He praised Naruto in the end.

Although Naruto was the weakest of all his Jinchuriki, he was also the strongest. Both Mito and Kushina suppressed him with sealing jutsu and extracted his chakra, but Naruto was the only one who received his chakra directly.

Don’t think there’s no difference. Think about how Naruto extracted Kurama’s chakra in the original story, and then think about how Kurama directly gave Naruto chakra. The difference is clear.

Naruto withstood the negative emotions in Kurama’s chakra and the shock of the Tailed Beast Bomb explosion. Except for the injuries caused by the overwhelming chakra, he did perfectly.

Even Kurama was somewhat satisfied.
