HP: Beyond Miracle Chapter 90

After a brief pause, Harris continued.

"According to the records left in our family, Olivia collapsed immediately after drinking it.

When she was discovered and rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment, she suddenly claimed that in her dream, she had found a way to resolve the blood curse."

"Wait a moment," Dawn interrupted, raising his hand. "You mean… in a dream?"

"The records do indeed say so." Harris spread his hands in a helpless gesture.

Dawn curled his lips in disbelief, then motioned for him to go on.

"Of course, Olivia never directly revealed what the method was. But based on her later actions, we guessed it had something to do with a curse-sharing spell."

Dawn's face twisted into an incredulous expression. "You're telling me Felix Felicis handed her a spell in her dream?"

"The records really do put it that way," Harris replied with the same words as before.

Drinking an enormous overdose of Felix Felicis and gaining benefits like this? Dawn suddenly had the reckless urge to test it on someone himself.

He gestured again for Harris to continue.

"As I said, Olivia never described the spell in detail. But after what happened, we deduced that it was a magic that split a curse through blood."

"Because once Olivia had compensated the Potions master and earned permission to return to the castle, she secretly gathered the blood of dozens of her classmates through various accidents."

"And then?" Dawn pressed. "If the curse is divided through blood, that sounds like it should work. The chances of success seem high."

His curiosity was piqued. He began wondering if his own curse could be distributed in such a way.

Harris shrugged. "But in the end, Olivia failed."

"Failed?" Dawn frowned. "Was the magic flawed?"

"No. Strictly speaking… it actually worked."

Harris scratched his head.

"From a certain day onward, those dozens of children whose blood had been collected all began showing donkey-like traits. And there was no way to remove them. The curse-sharing had worked flawlessly.

"But…"

Harris's face grew awkward. "Olivia herself vanished."

Dawn blinked. "Vanished? What do you mean?"

Harris let out a sigh.

"The spell's effect, rather than just dividing the curse, was more like dividing herself into dozens of parts, attaching them to others. Her body, and even her memories.

"In short, after Olivia disappeared, those children who grew donkey-like features also began dreaming of her memories. And their mental strength grew sharper than before."

Hearing this, even Dawn could not suppress his astonishment.

But then a sudden thought struck him, and his eyes lit with curiosity. "Do you know this spell yourself?"

"No one does."

Harris spread his hands. "All of what we know was pieced together afterward. The spell itself was never passed down."

"So it doesn't exist anymore…"

Dawn's tongue flicked lightly across his canine tooth. He thought of Olivia's portrait. Could it know the incantation?

And Olivia had once said she had hidden everything in the castle. Could that have included this spell?

Unfortunately, there was no way for him to return to Hogwarts anytime soon.

With a sigh, Dawn returned to the point. "I need books on curses. As many as you can find."

"No problem."

Harris instinctively glanced at his wrist before answering. "But you'll have to wait a little. I keep them at my residence in Luxor."

"Your residence is in Luxor?" Dawn gave him a strange look. "Then why are you in Cairo? Tutankhamun's tomb is in Luxor, isn't it?"

"Because Cairo is closer to the Ministry of Magic. There are fewer dark wizards here. Damn it, I didn't want to raise William in such a dangerous place."

Harris cast a weary glance at his son, clearly frustrated that he had somehow still managed to run into an outlaw even here.

Dawn followed his gaze.

The chubby boy was still standing there blankly, as if he could remain like that until the end of time.

"With respect," Dawn said, pointing at his temple, "your son has a problem here, doesn't he?"

"No, William is healthy."

Harris sighed and gently stroked the boy's cheek, guilt etched on his face.

"It was just that after his first blood-curse attack, he slowly closed himself off inside, until he became like this."

As he spoke, Harris opened a drawer behind the counter, pulled out a bread roll, and handed it over.

The boy's eyes brightened for a moment. He reached out, tore open the wrapper, and began eating slowly.

"Now, only when he's eating will he respond to me at all." Harris covered his face, unable to hide the bitterness.

At that moment, Dawn rubbed his chin thoughtfully and said suddenly, "Mr. Carter, I have a method that might slow the progress of your child's blood curse."

"What… what did you say?" Harris froze, unable to believe his ears.

"Magic power can resist the curse's advance. In other words, the more magic one possesses, the longer before they transform completely into a blood-curse beast."

Dawn half-lowered his eyes, hiding the darker thoughts that stirred within him.

"I have a way to strengthen his magic in a short time. But the price is that he may become a monster. Mr. Carter, can you accept that?"

"A monster?"

"That's right."

Dawn nodded, holding his hand out to illustrate. "In short, he would grow extra limbs and flesh. But compared to the curse, at least he would retain his human mind."

Harris frowned deeply.

Extra limbs and flesh? Just imagining it was terrifying enough. He could not picture what William would become if they followed this path.

After a long pause, he cautiously asked, "Could you explain the method first?"

"Of course."

Dawn smiled generously. "But it will take time to describe. Let's head to Luxor first."

This was not because Dawn was eager to explore Tutankhamun's tomb. Rather, he had already discovered that the shops near the Great Pyramid of Khufu could not meet his needs.

His failed attempts to purchase Veritaserum and Polyjuice Potion had already proven that.

Besides—

Dawn's gaze flicked to the dull-eyed, plump boy.

He thought of the Animagus potion he had buried outside Hogwarts castle. After waiting with such effort for a month, he had been forced to leave just after hiding it in the earth.

Still, this was good too.

He had studied Animagus transformation in hopes of finding a way to stir natural magic. But here was a blood-curse carrier who could achieve something similar.

He was confident that with his skills, he could unravel the secret.

Next, before he experimented with transforming himself into a magical creature, he would need plenty of human trials.

And Luxor—a place overrun with dark wizards and largely ignored by the Ministry—was perfect for doing terrible things.

As Dawn considered this, he suddenly felt that leaving Hogwarts might not have been such a bad decision after all.

But then he smacked his forehead.

"Damn it! I forgot I still have a curse on me!"
