"Hey do you have a pad?" Megan then asked me in a whisper a moment later. "My flow is crazy today."
"Sure," I replied. I then went with her to the locker room where my bag was so I could give it to her. I gave her extra one as well just in case. I then returned to the dining area to finish cleaning up the tables. We then started prepping the tables for lunch once we were done.
"Where is Megan?" Mike asked all of us that were in the dining area. It was me, Josh and another waiter.
"She went to the bathroom," I told him.
"Mhmm," he said to himself and continued working.
I’m guessing it’s because she was taking long. She’s on her period I thought to myself. Even I take a while in the bathroom when I’m on mine.
After a while the manager then came to the dining area. We all stopped working for a moment and looked at the manager. At first I thought he had come in to give us an order. However, he just searched around the room as if looking for something.
Mike, Josh, the other waiter and I stood and watched him wondering what he was looking for.
"Can we help you manager?" Josh asked him.
" I’m looking for Mr Gatwick," he explained. "I was supposed to escort him out, after our meeting, I left him for a moment to get something and when I returned he was gone. Have any of you seen him?"
We all shook our heads and responded no. I only saw him when he walked across the dinning area with the manager earlier. The Manager then left to continue looking for Gatwick elsewhere.
I continued working for a moment when a sudden thought came to mind. ’Hopefully, I’ll steer clear of him,’ I recalled Megan’s words earlier. My eyes widened in horror as a terrifying thought came to mind.
I went Mike who was working one of the table in the distance.
"Mike, come with me," I told him.
"What’s up?" he asked as he stopped what he was doing.
"It’s about Megan. I might be wrong, but I think she’s in trouble," I told him.
A grave expression appeared on Mikes face. "Let’s find her quickly then," he commented.
We went in the direction of the staff toilets in the staff only area. Upon arriving I checked the women’s bathroom but I couldn’t find her in any of the stalls. I began to panic.
"Perhaps she’s nearby, let’s continue looking," Mike said. There were a few more rooms in this staff area. There was the managers office, the locker room, staff break room and two more offices.
"I really have to get back to the others," we then heard Megan’s voice coming from the hallway we were approaching.
Mike and I went to the corner and peeped into the hallway ahead. There we found Gatwick and Megan standing in the hallway. The problem was Gatwick had Megan cornered against the wall.
"Where are you rushing to?" He said with an unsettling predatory voice.
"Mr Gatwick, it’s just I have to finish work or I’ll be in trouble," she said to him. Her voice was low and she sounded extremely uncomfortable.
"Don’t worry, I’ll excuse you. You have nothing to worry about," he told her completely ignoring the fact that she visibly looked comfortable.
He lifted his hand and brought it to her chin. Megan shifted her head trying to avoid his hand but failed to. "Beautiful little thing aren’t you?" He commented.
Hearing that made me physically want to puke. A man in his late forties preying on a woman who was half his age and at work no less.
"That piece of shit," Mike muttered with spite. I looked up at him and saw his face was filled with anger. He then formed his hands into fists and he stepped forward looking, like he was about to charge at Gatwick.
"Wait," I whispered and held my hand out to stop him. "Let me handle this, please," I told him.
I had a feeling he was going to do something he would regret. Gatwick was our superior after all I didn’t want him to get in trouble. I then stepped forward from the corner of the wall into the hallway.
"Mr Gatwick there you are," I said loudly and it forced both Megan and Andrew to look my way. "The manage has been looking everywhere for you." I informed him.
He stepped away from Megan, a disappointed look on his face. Whilst Megan looked so relieved.
"Has he?" He asked as he glared at me. Probably angry I had interrupted him.
"Yes, he seemed worried so we decided to help him look." I continued as Mike and I approached.
Megan rushed to Mike and I’s side.
"Well then I shouldn’t keep him waiting," Gatwick replied and then left us.
"I swear I was really going to punch that guy square in the jaw," Mike said once he turned the corner of the hallway. That’s what I had been afraid of, I thought to myself.
"Megan are you alright?" Mike asked her concerned.
"Mike, Jasmine oh my goodness," she said and she hugged Mike. "You saved me."
"What is that man’s deal?" I asked as I looked down the hallway he left from.
That was very strange behaviour from that Andrew man.
"I told you before, he’s known for targeting the young female workers at the garden house restaurants," Megan said.
How does he get away with it? I asked wondering how he hadn’t been caught if he did it so often.
"I heard he threatens your job if try to tell anyone," Megan explained.
"Is that what he said to you?" I asked her.
"No, not yet anyway. For the past few months he’s been awkwardly flirting with me and being suggestive towards me whenever he comes. However, I have a feeling his advances will get worse with time," she explained.
"I swear he’s been harassing me more often ever since Rebecca left," she said.
