In the world of Nen users, there is no specific classification of strength; it is mainly assessed by the duration of the opponent's "Ken."
Generally, a self-sufficient "Ken" should be able to be maintained for at least half an hour. Otherwise, one would run out of aura before the battle is over.
Ryu: A technique that adjusts the amount of aura in specific parts of the body to alter offensive and defensive capabilities. It is often used in conjunction with "Ken."
If the amount of aura between two individuals is not significantly different, then fighting under "Ken" will result in minimal damage to both sides.
Therefore, how to quickly change the offensive and defensive power of specific body parts to inflict damage on the opponent has become a crucial aspect of Nen users' training.
If the opponent is more skilled in using "Ryu," they can swiftly replenish the aura consumed during an attack and deal damage to the enemy.
Conversely, if the opponent's "Ryu" is stronger, they can gather aura from other parts of the body to the area about to be attacked, effectively defending before the attack lands!
Typically, intermediate Nen users synchronize the change in offensive and defensive power with their own attacks.
If the movement of aura is too slow, not only will it be difficult to inflict damage on the opponent, but when the opponent attacks, the user may also suffer damage due to insufficient aura for defense.
Mastering "Ryu" requires not only fast aura circulation but also precision!
This also tests one's observational skills. If the distribution of aura is too inaccurate, one might suffer far greater damage than expected.
