"...Yukinoshita-san’s parents wanted to meet you?"
"I met her mother yesterday."
"....." Maaya and Saki.
"It was a coincidence, though."
When Tobe thought of his meeting with Yukinoshita’s mother, Yuki-san, it made him feel helpless, as once again he had a raging boner. He knew well that he shouldn’t be thinking with his lower body all the time, yet when he thought about how Yuki-san would grasp his erection tightly, yet with care, as she accepted everything, it made him have to crouch forward slightly, as he took the pillow on the side and put it on the top of his legs.
Still, even so, while he thought of dirty things, Saki and Maaya thought differently, as if something precious that they had thought to be so close was about to be taken away, making them desperate.
Yet, while Maaya quickly calmed down as she was still close to Shinra, and their relationship was far deeper than just a friend, Saki was different. "A-Are you okay?"
"Well, yes." Tobe nodded. "We just met, but then again, it is good that I cut my hair short."
If he didn’t cut his hair with Yuki-san’s personality, he could imagine that she would jab him from time to time with polite sarcasm, gentle yet thorny.
Somehow, he could even imagine that she would just tell him to break up with her daughter, but as everything had happened, he knew that it was impossible for him to break up with Yukinoshita.
While he might be okay, as Yukinoshita wasn’t his only one, if her mother told her to break up with him, he could imagine that she would run away and be with him.
It might be unfair, but for her, he was her only one, which made him sigh inwardly, thinking that he was as scumbaggy as ever.
Yet, similar to Yukinoshita, he was also the only one for Saki and Maaya.
"But, that’s it?" Maaya was curious about Tobe’s meeting with Yukinoshita’s mother. "Shouldn’t she ask you something else? If I am not wrong, Yukinoshita-san’s family is from a wealthy family, right?"
"Yes, her family is an old family in the Chiba prefecture. She might even be the descendant of a samurai or a noble, too."
Similar to the Europe that had the concept of nobility, this country had a similar concept, but it was in the shape of samurai, daimyo, and many others.
Still, after the Meiji Period, everything became similar to that of Europe, and Tobe knew that Yukinoshita’s family should be part of the nobility.
Yet, even if she was, much time had passed, and the value of nobility might be high in the eyes of commoners, but they weren’t as powerful as before, nor were they even wealthy, since many nobles lost their wealth, power, and disappeared in the passage of time.
"S-So how was it?" Saki asked with a trembling voice.
"Well, it is fine. She accepted me."
"Yup." Tobe nodded calmly.
"What did you say that you can be accepted?"
"Nothing much, only my background and what I plan to do in the future."
"...that seems to be a hard question, right?" Saki frowned since if she were the one who was asked that question, she knew well that she would go all silent, thinking that she was unworthy of Yuki-san’s daughter.
"It might be, but I am working hard and I won’t give up."
"...isn’t it tiring?" Maaya suddenly asked. "I mean... if you date someone who is more ordinary, then you won’t have to work so hard, as they can accept you for who you are."
Tobe looked at Maaya, who couldn’t look at him straight as she said those words, then smiled softly, "Even if the person I am dating isn’t Yukino, I will still work hard."
"Do you think that I am okay with how I am now? I want to get better, and I don’t want my woman to love me, and as she is okay with everything, even if I am useless. I want her to be my driving force, as we can grow together, supporting each other, and not having her regret being with me. Be happy as my women."
With his face, Tobe knew that he could become a homemaker, letting his women support him in life, yet as a man, how could he allow that?
While it might be sexist, especially when everyone had become equal no matter what the gender was, he still wanted to be the one who led, the one who was relied on, and the leader of his family.
"...even if somehow you date me?" Maaya asked with a blush.
"Of course." Tobe nodded. "Even if I date you, or Ayase-san, I will work hard, so your life or our future children are not miserable, having a future, and happy."
"Well, for most, they think that men should protect, but I realize that to protect means that the people that we care the most should be in danger or a certain misfortune, so we, as men, can protect them first.
"Such a feeling is selfish, I think. After all, their love means that they expect their loved one to be in such a miserable state first, so they can protect them. So, for me, I think love means that I hope for them to be happy. That’s all, and because of that, I am working hard, so even if the person I am with isn’t Yukino, but someone else, what I do doesn’t change much."
As Tobe said those words calmly, he then showed a self-depreciating smile, and said, "Then again, there are limited things that I can do now as I am a student. Except for studying, so I can get into a good university, there isn’t much that I can do now."
While he could do many things and had been working on something to improve his life, he wouldn’t say them until he showed his results, as saying them now would make him appear shallow or braggart.
Well, it was just his opinion, though, since everyone had their own opinions.
Still, for him, it was better to be in silence, so that way, when he failed, he wouldn’t be embarrassed.
However, for Maaya and Saki, they felt like their hearts were beating so fast as their chests felt so tight, as they felt so deeply jealous of Yukinoshita, wishing that someone who meant so much to him on his lips was them.
Still, as Maaya tried to calm herself, thinking that she had a chance to be that person as their relationship was far than others knew, Saki lowered her head as she clenched her skirt tightly, feeling hopeless as the feelings that she had tried to suppress continued to overflow, as she couldn’t stop them, yet even she knew about this feeling, it made her even more desperate.
’Oh, god, why did you let me meet him?’
If she didn’t meet him, then would she feel this feeling?
However, the more she knew him, the more she fell for him.
"Should we continue to study?"
Regardless, their study continued.
The law for writing is getting harder now, so it is hard to write those fanfictions with high school settings.
Still, now, I understand why those high school protagonists remain a virgin till they graduate from high school.
