Vera took two steps to the side and smiled at the young nurse who looked over in surprise.
Kris Cooper stretched out his long arm and pulled her to his side, steering her away from a patient walking against her.
"Honey, be careful walking now that you’re pregnant."
How could this guy be so shameless!
The young nurse led them into a consulting room, looking a bit awkwardly at Vera and Kris Cooper.
"If you’re pregnant, then we can’t do this brain CT."
Vera hurried to speak, "Don’t listen to his nonsense. We..."
"We’re just preparing for pregnancy," Kris Cooper tilted his chin, "We can check everything that needs checking. At worst, we can delay it by a few months."
"Okay," the nurse smiled and sat at the computer to help Vera with the forms.
Vera stood up angrily, "Who wants to have a baby with you?!"
The man just watched her flushed face with a slight smirk, "What’s there to be embarrassed about things ? Aren’t couples supposed to have babies?"
Vera knew explaining now was useless, and her anger simmered at being taken advantage of. She looked at the lazy man’s arms, reached out, and bit him unceremoniously on the hand.
Kris Cooper looked at the bite mark she left on his hand but just smiled.
"Be good, we’re in the hospital, the nurse is still watching... you can bite all you want when we get home!"
Vera’s face turned even redder, and she shook off his hand.
The young nurse coughed lightly, handing a few forms to Kris Cooper, "Mr. Cooper, these are Miss Vera’s test results. I marked them all urgent, so there’s no need to queue; you can go straight in."
Kris Cooper took the forms, half-embraced Vera with his long arm, and led her out of the consulting room.

"Kris Cooper..." Vera excitedly tugged on Kris Cooper’s arm, "Look, doesn’t he look like that Korean star..."
Kris Cooper turned his head, glanced at the approaching Andre Colin, then at the starry-eyed Vera, and lifted his hand to turn her face toward him.
"What are you looking at? Are you here to see the doctor or to look at men!"
"Of course, if there’s a handsome guy, I have to look," Vera pulled his hand away, looked at Andre Colin again, and seeing him smile at her, she immediately smiled back, "Oppa, annyeong haseyo..."
"Shut up!" Her mix-and-match Korean hadn’t even finished before a certain someone’s roaring interruption cut her off. Kris Cooper frowned at the approaching Andre Colin, rudely picking faults, "Wearing a trench coat to work, aren’t you feeling hot?!"
Andre Colin looked at his lightweight trench coat, shrugged lightly, and smiled as he extended his hand to Vera.
