Vera Wave reached out her hand.

Noticing the bottle of wine on the table, she jumped up and hugged the bottle to her mouth, gulping down directly.
Kris Cooper ran over trying to grab it, but she continued to drink while running around the table. Running hastily, she choked and coughed, with wine spilling all over her chin and collar.
She slipped a bit and almost fell, so he didn’t dare to chase her anymore.
"Vera, be good, listen. I won’t chase you, come back and drink slowly."
"I’m not lying to you."
"I don’t believe you!"
She hugged the bottle and poured it into her mouth again, and Kris Cooper didn’t dare to chase her, fearing she might drink herself into trouble.
Just then, a waiter came in to serve soup.
His eyes lit up, and he retreated to the corner of the room.
"I’ll watch from afar, don’t run, sit down and have some hot soup, otherwise, your stomach will hurt. Okay?"

She resumed eating the soup, taking a bite and looking at him, eating another bite and looking again. Kris Cooper folded his arms, leaning against the wall watching her eat.
Her tolerance for alcohol was genuinely low. Just a small glass of beer would usually do it for her, and today, the way she was drinking, getting drunk was inevitable. He could only try to let her eat more so her stomach would feel better.
When she had almost finished eating the soup, the main course was served.
Vera hugged the bottle and continued to eat. Eating a few bites, cursing a few times, taking a few sips of wine...
"What’s so great about you? Just a lousy man, I’m not interested anyway... I lose one crooked tree, and I have a whole forest..."
"It’s a forest." Kris Cooper stood in the corner, reminding her with a tone that carried suppressed anger. How could such unworthy things make her so sad?
Already showing signs of drunkenness, she stabbed at the fish with a fork, swaying as she yelled.

After yelling, she raised her left hand and lifted the bottle. There wasn’t much wine left in it. She tried to drink more but couldn’t manage, then tipped it over again, but it slipped in her weakened grip.
With a splutter, the wine spilled, drenching her neck.
"Vera!" Kris Cooper rushed over, grabbing her hand holding the fork to prevent her from hurting herself, "You’re drunk, come home with me."
"I’m not done drinking yet!"
"Let me go, let go..."
She struggled hard, but he ignored her resistance, snatched the bottle away, tossed it aside, and held her in his arms, soothingly kissing her hair.
"Vera, be good, listen to me."
The waiter came in to serve desserts, and as soon as he looked up, a wallet was thrown at him, hitting him.
"Charge the bill with the card, and get me a taxi!"
