Her little heart gave a sudden shiver. Apart from her underwear, only a thin layer of goosebumps prickled her skin from the extreme surprise.
She quickly grabbed the blanket to cover herself, trying to recall what had happened.
She only remembered beating Harry Snowpine until he fell to the ground, then going out to eat with Kris Cooper and having some drinks. But then... everything went blank. Surely, I didn’t... didn’t do *that* after getting drunk with that guy, did I?!
At the thought of this possibility, her heart started to race once again.
She lowered her gaze again to carefully inspect her body. Despite not feeling anything particularly different, there was a noticeable pink mark on her chest. No matter how she looked at it, it seemed like... a hickey.

She casually grabbed a bathrobe, wrapped it around herself, pulling it tight. Then, Vera Wave turned and dashed out of the bedroom.
In the small living room, a closed laptop sat on the coffee table, and a suit jacket was casually tossed on the sofa.
The bathroom door across the way pushed open, and Kris Cooper stepped out, wrapped only in a bath towel.
He had just finished processing some necessary documents and, fresh from a shower, was preparing to make do on the sofa for the night.
When Vera saw Kris Cooper clad only in a towel, only two words echoed in her mind.
Just moments ago, she had clung to a sliver of hope that it was all a misunderstanding. But now, seeing Kris Cooper in this state, Vera immediately confirmed her suspicion—I slept with him!
At this moment, Kris Cooper stepped towards her and asked with concern, "Why are you up? Are you feeling... unwell?"
"Uh..." Vera swallowed hard. "You... don’t misunderstand. I... I just drank too much earlier and mistook you for... my boyfriend... no, my ex-boyfriend. That’s why we... um... ended up sleeping together!"

A sudden, inexplicable anger surged in his chest, and his voice turned cold. "Then what do you suggest?"
"I..." Vera hung her head, biting her lip. "I... I’ll pay!"
Kris Cooper’s anger flared even hotter.
"Alright then!" he bit out through clenched teeth. "One million!"
"You... You’re trying to rip me off!" Hearing this sum, Vera forgot her embarrassment and flared up, lifting her small face to yell at him, "One million for *one time*? Do you think you’re worth that much? I didn’t feel a thing, okay? There was no earth-shattering pleasure, no mind-blowing ecstasy! I didn’t wake up needing to hold onto the wall, my back doesn’t ache, and my legs aren’t even weak! And for *your* skills, you’re demanding one million?!"
This damned brat dares to question my skills?!
Kris Cooper shot out a hand, hauled her up, kicked open the bedroom door, and threw her back onto the bed.
Vera sat up in shock. "What... what are you doing?!"
His hand darted out, grabbing the belt of her bathrobe.
