As Guy’s team was locked in a fierce battle with Kisame, Itachi’s figure appeared in front of Kakashi and his group.
"Itachi!" Kakashi raised his hand, signaling everyone to stop.
"Kakashi, Naruto, it’s been a while," Itachi said, his Sharingan eyes revealing three slowly rotating tomoe.
"Be careful of his eyes!" Kakashi warned. "Don’t look directly at him; his genjutsu is very powerful!"
"What should we do then?" Sakura asked, a bit nervous.
"Pay attention to his shoulder and foot movements," Kakashi advised, sharing a tip he learned from Might Guy.
"The Sharingan, huh?" Chiyo sighed. "It’s been a long time since I’ve fought an Uchiha."
"Granny Chiyo, do you have any strategies against the Sharingan?" Naruto asked curiously.
Chiyo squinted and said, "Our experience is this: when you encounter an Uchiha, run away if you’re alone. If you’re in a pair, attack from behind."
"What do you mean?"
"I mean if you’re alone, escape immediately," Chiyo explained. "If it’s two against one, one person can act as bait while the other attacks from the Sharingan’s blind spot."
"I see," Naruto nodded.
"As long as you have companions, you can break out of the genjutsu by hitting them, so we have the advantage in numbers this time," Chiyo said calmly.
"Be cautious," Kakashi warned seriously. "His eyes are the Mangekyo Sharingan. That type of genjutsu is impossible to break."
"It seems you’ve experienced my Tsukuyomi and learned a lot from it," Itachi said coldly, looking at Kakashi.
"Indeed," Kakashi replied in a deep voice. "But using that technique must take a toll on you, even damaging your eyes."
"As expected of Kakashi," Itachi said. "You figured out so much from just one battle."
Kakashi lifted the forehead protector covering his left eye. "How much can you still see with your eyes, Itachi?"
"You’ll find out soon enough."
Itachi calmly shifted his gaze to Naruto.
Naruto quickly lowered his eyes to avoid eye contact, but Itachi pointed at him with his index finger.
"This time, I’ll take you with me, Naruto."
"Bastard!!"
"Leave this to me," Kakashi stopped Naruto. "Last time, I was careless. This time will be different!"
"What the heck, Kakashi-sensei, is this another one of those times where you want us to just watch as you fight?" Naruto complained, glaring at Kakashi.
"Well, I would like to show off like that," Kakashi smiled wryly. "But this time, you need to back me up. I can’t win against him alone."
With that, Kakashi dashed forward, aiming a full-force punch at Itachi.
With a "bang," Itachi’s figure dissipated.
"A shadow clone!"
Kakashi quickly turned around, only to find two more Itachi clones surrounding Naruto.
"Naruto!"
Naruto reacted quickly, pulling out shuriken and striking the two clones.
However, instead of disappearing, the clones slowly transformed into crows, which began flying around.
"What?" Naruto widened his eyes. "When did I fall into a genjutsu?"
"My genjutsu doesn’t require eye contact."
The half-remaining Itachi floated in the air, crows constantly flying out of his body.
"All it takes is a single finger."
"So it was then!"
Naruto recalled Jiraiya’s teachings on breaking genjutsu and quickly flared his chakra.
"It’s useless," Itachi’s figure completely dissolved into crows.
Naruto suddenly froze as the left side of his face turned into a cursed mark, looking as ferocious as Sasuke. His left hand involuntarily grabbed his own throat.
Sasuke’s voice echoed in his ear: "Last time I spared you. This time, I’ll kill you directly!"
"Why, why didn’t you bring Sasuke-kun back?"
Sakura’s angry voice sounded, and Naruto looked down to see Sakura’s face emerging from his chest.
"Why, why are you the only one so lucky? You don’t deserve to be happy!"
Naruto opened his right hand, seeing Gaara’s eye growing in his palm, with the red "love" symbol clearly visible.
I’m under a genjutsu.
The thought flashed through Naruto’s mind, but he was powerless to do anything.
’Damn it!’
’What should I do?’
’At this rate...’
Naruto felt his thoughts starting to blur.
"You’re still so useless, scaredy cat." A familiar voice suddenly spoke.
"Damn it, Sasuke. I’ve gotten much stronger!
Naruto mentally responded.
A cool sensation filled Naruto’s mind, and the illusions before his eyes vanished.
Naruto looked around in confusion, only to find everyone staring at something behind him.
He quickly turned around to see Sasuke, dressed in black, standing on a tree not far away.
His left hand rested on the hilt of his sword, while a crow perched on his right hand. The crow’s black eyes looked down at Naruto with a mocking gaze.
"Sasuke!!" Naruto pointed at his former comrade who had suddenly appeared, shouting, "What are you doing here!!"
Sasuke didn’t reply.
"Is the genjutsu not broken yet?" Naruto frowned, forming seals again and flaring his chakra.
"Hmph, your brain hasn’t improved either."
Sasuke sneered, raising his left hand to release the crow.
"Damn you, Sasuke! You’re messing with me!" Naruto yelled in frustration. "I’ve gotten much stronger!!"
"Is that so."
The empty branches swayed gently as Sasuke’s voice echoed in his ear.
"It’s too bad I can’t see it."
"When did you...?"
Naruto looked in shock at Sasuke, who was now silently standing beside him.
"Sasuke-kun."
Sakura’s face flushed with excitement as she watched Sasuke’s upright figure.
’So cool, so cool, so cool, what should I do! Sasuke-kun has become even cooler!’
’How did he get here?’
Kakashi remained silent, subtly observing their surroundings.
Could that guy be nearby as well?
"Another Uchiha?" Chiyo’s eyes flickered as she became more alert.
But Sasuke paid no attention to them, his eyes fixed on Itachi ahead.
"Long time no see, Uchiha Itachi."
His eyes turned from black to red, transforming into the three-tomoe Sharingan.
"Sasuke, my foolish little brother, do you think you’re strong enough to stand before me now?"
Itachi’s voice was cold as usual.
"Hmph."
Sasuke’s expression turned cold, and he slightly lowered his stance, gripping his sword tightly as a powerful fighting spirit surged from him.
"Save your big talk for when your real self appears before me, you fake!"
A flash of cold steel cut through the air as Sasuke drew his sword, sending the white blade slicing toward Itachi’s face in an instant.
