I Am Your Natural Enemy Chapter 124

"Hey, Minister, I’m already at the camp gate, but I can’t get in."

"From now on, for safety’s sake, no one from outside is allowed in. We have to hold our ground here at all costs."

"Minister, I have urgent intel." Feng Yao could already tell from Cai Qidong’s tone that something had gone wrong.

Feng Yao’s words landed in Cai Qidong’s heart—the importance of the intel was top priority.

His determination to defend to the extreme began to crack.

This was exactly what the Fake Mo Zhicheng had planned for—taking advantage of their actions and pushing them to the extreme.

When the very foundation had issues, Cai Qidong, who already felt something was off, immediately caught on.

"No... no! Damn it, we’ve been played!"

Cai Qidong looked around at his men—some were already asleep, while others were wide-eyed and alert, ready to burn themselves out for the mission.

Cai Qidong walked out of the command tent and looked outside—more people asleep inside the other tents.

The ones outside, still awake, already had their guns off safety, ready to open fire at a moment’s notice.

As soon as Cai Qidong asked, they shot back with wide, focused eyes.

"Reporting to the Minister! Promise to finish the mission! Nothing, and I mean nothing, is getting into this camp!"

Cai Qidong didn’t bother to give an opposite order—he himself was barely holding on by sheer willpower.

The order itself wasn’t wrong. It had just been pushed a little too far, into the extreme.

Even he couldn’t make himself give the opposite order. He’d just done a casual tour and with a single glance, he knew—they’d been hit.

The Fake Mo Zhicheng had already snuck in—and he’d definitely just gone straight through their own camp.

Ever since Wen Yan gave him the intel—that the water connected the chemical plant Domain and a few others—he’d concluded that the Fake Mo Zhicheng would enter the chemical plant Domain from elsewhere.

That would have been simpler, faster, more convenient.

But who would’ve thought the Fake Mo Zhicheng would be so bold, his abilities even stronger than predicted, and could walk right through camp without anyone noticing?

Cai Qidong headed into the temporary surveillance tent, where the blaring alarm still screamed. One of the monitors showed a man with glasses frozen on screen.

But the internal staff watching the cameras seemed completely oblivious, like they hadn’t heard or seen anything.

Even with Cai Qidong there, they just held their posts, never bothering to turn around and greet him.

Cai Qidong strode back out, phone in hand.

"Don’t come in for now. The one we’re after, codename ’Fraudster,’ has already been here, and none of us even saw him. It’s safe to say he’s already inside the chemical plant Domain."

"Minister, I just got word—the Fuyu Mountain people are almost here."

"Just...hold them off somehow."

"How the hell am I supposed to do that?"

Feng Yao stared at his phone as the beep died, his head about to explode.

Who could have guessed the Fake Mo Zhicheng would be this reckless, with abilities this outlandish?

After a beat, Feng Yao called Wen Yan.

"Wen Yan, something’s happened. Can you get to Duanzhou right now? Bring the Little Zombie."

Feng Yao explained the situation to Wen Yan—he really was out of options.

The way things were, he just couldn’t handle this. Even after hearing so many stories about Fake Mo Zhicheng’s ridiculous abilities, in his mind it was still just hypnosis and brainwashing—he never imagined it would go this far.

On top of that, the Great Zombie from Fuyu Mountain was about to arrive.

Don’t let the Minister’s words fool you—they say they’re here to help.

Truth is, they don’t follow any orders from the Scorching Sun Department at all. They made it clear—they’re only here to vent their anger on zombies and have nothing to do with the Scorching Sun Department’s operation. Cooperation isn’t their obligation.

If you can get even a little cooperation, it’s a favor. If not, well, you’d better be strong enough to pin those Great Zombies to the floor yourself.

Even Qin Kun might not be able to pull that off.

The only option now was to call in the boss. Only Wen Yan, with the Little Zombie, could smooth things over.

On the other end, Wen Yan hung up, frowning slightly.

He’d planned to wait until morning to swing by the funeral home and have a word with the director.

Who knew all this would blow up tonight?

He’d been pondering which way Fake Mo Zhicheng would come from—who’d guess he’d pick the most crowded spot?

Wen Yan felt for the information in his mind.

Ever since the Natural Enemy Profession gave its last prompt, he’d just been waiting for him to choose, occasionally pushing him for a decision.

He knew clearly what that meant: things were about to get dangerous—seriously dangerous.

The fastest route to Duanzhou would be to use the Water Ghost Domain as a shortcut.

But given the current situation over there, Wen Yan reckoned he’d better play it safe. With things over there so tense, he’d probably barely surface from the pool before getting blasted by a wave of indiscriminate attacks.

Wen Yan called Zhang Laoxi for backup.

Wen Yan took the Little Zombie and Uncle, heading out. Sparrow Cat wanted to follow too—Wen Yan considered it for a second.

"You go to the Water Ghost Domain. There’ll probably be a lot of Different Races coming through tonight. Tell Wang Xueqi—tell her I said: If you want to die, just let them through. If you want to live, keep your head down and stay put."

"Got it. Say no more. I totally get it."

Wen Yan climbed into the car. Zhang Laoxi gunned the engine and shot off.

As they drove, Wen Yan dialed the director’s number.

"Hey, director, sorry to bother you so late."
