The Floating City beneath the ground,
"Is this the Floating City you mentioned, Lis?"
The black cat on Lis's left shoulder spoke excitedly, surveying the surroundings.
Lis nodded and then explained to Joyce, who was a bit curious about the appearance of the black cat, Little Mi:
"I got this from the relics left by a Legendary Arcanist. It used to be the Magic Intelligent Life of that Arcanist's Mage Tower, but now it has developed its own consciousness."
The black cat seemed still not quite satisfied with the name Little Mi, snorted softly, and then Lis picked it up and stroked it.
Joyce was quite intrigued by the black cat; in his perception, the black cat on Lis's shoulder was just a thin composition of Magic Power, showing no sign of strength.
It wasn't made of flesh and blood, yet it had a real physical form.
Quite interesting, was it created by a Legendary Arcanist?
Joyce knew that Lis had left Bright City previously to explore a relic of a Legendary Mage, and it seemed now that his findings were substantial!
However, Joyce did not inquire further; after all, as important as that relic was, it couldn't compare to the Floating City before them.
The black cat, who Joyce was examining, didn't seem too concerned; it had stayed inside Lis's body and hadn't come out during this time, just to accumulate Magic Power and wait for the right moment.
Lis said there was a big surprise waiting for it, but surely this surprise was a bit too big?
When Little Mi developed its consciousness, it was already in the Dream Temple located in Snow Ridge Town, which the Sphinx transformed from his Mage Tower.
Thus, the black cat had hardly ever left that place and naturally hadn't seen a real Floating City before.
But amongst the connaissant knowledge handled by Sphinx, there were records concerning the Floating Cities, the ultimate creation of a Mage's wisdom.
As a Magic Intelligent Life, although it had its own consciousness, its body was still weak and powerless, and it could only express its true ability via the Mage Tower.
Of course, in some sense, the Floating City could also be considered an enhanced version of a Mage Tower, albeit an ultimate super-enhanced version.
Previously, it had always been waiting for Lis to build his Mage Tower, so that it could properly display its abilities, instead of being aimless or like a salted fish, often needing to sleep inside Lis's body due to a lack of Magic Power.
But later, Lis told it that a lost Floating City was waiting for it, which Little Mi barely believed.
After all, it was a Floating City—something that even Sphinx, a Legendary Arcanist at the peak, had never owned.
Though Legendary Arcanists were rare, the number of continents on the Gaia World wouldn't be too few, and yet, only two Floating Cities had appeared before the world.
Even if some were hidden, the number would still be extremely scarce.
Little Mi never thought it would have the chance to try controlling a still-operating Floating City!
"You go and try, see if you can control the source of these Magic Runes?"
Lis placed the black cat on the ground and pointed to a dimly lit Magic Pattern Circuit on a nearby house.
Human-like, the black cat nodded its head, its tail wagging excitedly as it ran to the wall engraved with Magic Runes, lightly pressing a paw against the rune.
Gradually, a light white Magic glow began to flicker on the black cat's body, matching the frequency of the surrounding light.
Lis nodded in approval; if there was one advantage the cat had, it was its unique ability to sense and control such giant Magic creations and Magic Guide circuits.
Moreover, Lis had asked the black cat about this.
Compared to other Magic Intelligent Lives, like the one from Mr. Stephens's First Magic Workshop, Little Mi's comprehensive control and information processing capability were twice as powerful.
If a normal Magic Intelligent Life was like a single-core processor, then Little Mi would be a dual-core processor, even capable of continuously learning and improving over time.
However, it was unfortunate that during the long years in the temple, there hadn't been much for it to practice with; it had spent almost all that time sleeping, so its abilities hadn't improved much.
But now, there was a quite suitable opportunity.
This was also the reason Lis had called the black cat out.
No matter how he thought about it, it was impossible for Lis, with only Gold Level strength, to control the Floating City.
Through the black cat, however, there was a slight possibility.
Seeing the black cat eagerly exploring the Magic Runes of the Floating City, for the time being, Lis could only wait silently.
Regarding the Magic Pattern Circuits on the walls and ground, Lis had also tried to decipher them earlier, but it hadn't been long before he started feeling dizzy.
The Magic Pattern Circuits on this Floating City were all constructed in a uniform style, which was still quite profound and obscure for Lis.
Moreover, Lis felt that the Magic Pattern Circuits visible on the surface were probably just the trivial details of the entire Floating City's Magic Rune construction.
To understand and decipher the core Magic Runes of the Floating City through these at his feet was nearly an impossible task.
Taking advantage of the time Little Mi was trying, Lis walked to the edge of the Floating Island, observing the azure-blue Floating City more closely.
Other than the central prominent grand tower, four slightly shorter Mage Towers, which were comparative svelte and refined, stood around it.
Most special was the dazzling four-colored fantasy ring encircling each of the four spires.
Flaming red, deep blue, indigo, and tawny yellow.
