I Ascend to the Divine Throne through Arcane Means Chapter 546

"Indeed, quite fitting," Lis nodded silently after a moment.

The name "Dream Library" really suited the somewhat illogical yet shocking scene before his eyes.

One could imagine that once this library had been bustling with countless visitors, seated quietly and flipping through the magic books.

Above their heads were the brilliant starry skies and ancient, floating bookshelves, as if one was truly in a dream.

However, Lis's gaze was quickly attracted to the sea of books before him.

No matter what was recorded in these magic books, they were undoubtedly a treasure trove of knowledge for Lis.

The scale of this was much richer than Mr. Stephens's space library set up in the First Magic Workshop.

It was a crystallization of wisdom in the Floating City, the most important of its kind,

and even if the most crucial secrets were not stored here, it still held a great allure for Lis, the Arcanist.

Joyce looked at Lis's eager eyes and walked forward with a smile.

"This is the Dream Library, your father once spent a lot of time here," he said.

"Uncle Joyce, how can I get those magic books up there?" Lis hurriedly asked, catching up a few steps.

He had already tried to use the "Mage's Hand" spell to reach for the floating bookshelves to retrieve some magic books.

But his attempt had failed; Lis clearly sensed that the surrounding area of those bookshelves was protected by an invisible magic barrier, so solid that he abandoned the idea of forcibly breaking through.

That made sense; even in the Floating City, they wouldn't let people take away books containing invaluable magic knowledge so easily.

However, since Uncle Joyce and his father, Brandon, had been here before and gotten quite a few magic books, they probably figured out the library's operating patterns already.

"Look there!" Joyce nodded and pointed to a place directly ahead of the two.

Lis followed the direction of Joyce's finger.

At the center of the library was a huge black stone platform.

The platform, carved from a single piece of black marble, was solid and smooth, shimmering with a soft luster. Intricate patterns were carved around the edges as if crafted by ancient artisans with great dedication.

Most importantly, a hexagonal pyramid-shaped crystal emitting a crystalline glow was set into the center of the platform, its tip pointing straight up to the center of the starry sky map above, radiating soft, gentle light.

Lis's attention had been so fully absorbed by the starry sky map and the vast magic bookshelves that he hadn't noticed this stone platform before.

He walked up to the black platform and looked up.

He realized that not only was the platform aligned with the starry map overhead, but all the bookshelves seemed to revolve slowly in the air around this central platform.

"Place your hand on that crystal," Joyce's voice rose beside him, guiding Lis.

Without hesitation, Lis's hand gently touched the glittering crystal on the platform.

It felt cold at first touch, but Lis sensed a trickle of magic power flowing from the crystal into his body.

Feeling no threat, Lis relaxed his resistance to this stream of magic power.

Under the guidance of this magic power, part of Lis's consciousness entered the crystal before him.

Suddenly, a wealth of information flooded into his mind.

[Welcome to the Azela Great Library!]

[Respected visitor, we could not find your records in Azela Floating City!]

[The Azela Great Library grants you access at the following level: Bronze Level.]

Lis frowned, but that wasn't really his focus.

It seemed that the library was controlled by the magic device before him, which handled the lending and recording of magic books, much like a Magic Intelligent Life managing the library according to pre-set rules.

But the intelligence level seemed quite low.

Moreover, it seemed that everyone who had formally visited this Floating City had their information recorded by the city.

Thus, at least one mechanism exists that controls the whole process of the Floating City.

It was very likely a Magic Intelligent Life or even the core of the Floating City.

If that was the case, why hadn't the ancestors of the Kane family or Uncle Joyce discovered anything about it?

It was as if the entire Floating City was in slumber, maintaining only the minimal necessary operations.

Could it be that the Magic Intelligent Life of the Floating City had perished as well?

Lis shook his head. Despite his curiosity, merely wondering was of no use; he had to continue focusing on the library's central crystal.

Bronze Level permissions?

What level of magic books could he access then?

Lis quickly received his answer through the central crystal before him.

The magic books in the Azela Great Library were categorized similar to spell levels, ranging from One Circle to Nine Circles.

Books at the One Circle level contained knowledge equivalent to that of One-Circle Magic spells.

Starting with One Circle and increasing sequentially, there were books containing knowledge up to Nine-Circle Spells.

This was only a comparison, however, for the books here contained not only spell knowledge but also information on Magic Rune engraving, Magic Equipment forging and crafting, Magic Potion concoction, and Magic Item preparation.
