A black stream of energy emerged from the index finger of his right hand and reached out toward Andre.
Andre watched the inexplicable strength emanating from Lis's hand with a surge of intense unease, but ultimately he gave up struggling.
He was the fish on the chopping board now, with no chance to resist.
He could only quietly watch as Lis's fingertip touched his forehead.
In an instant, the black stream from Lis's hand spread to the center of Andre's forehead, forming a complex magic rune.
The circular rune was etched with menacing lines, oozing a sinister aura in its twists and turns.
When the rune took shape, Andre felt as if his soul had been locked by something malevolent, as though it was continuously drawing his life force.

This was a special spell Lis had obtained from the Azela Floating City Dream Library, originating from a research manual of an Undead Mage.
This kind of Death Magic could lock down the soul and life of Gold-level professionals, continuously absorbing the life force of the one affected, unless the user lifted the spell, it would remain active within the victim's soul until death.
Because it bound the soul, this spell was incredibly troublesome, with few at the Gold tier capable of lifting it.
After learning it, Lis had been eager to fully master this spell and transform it into his own unique arcane.

Lis said sternly, and Angela nodded repeatedly in a place Andre couldn't see.

Andre, now completely at Lis's mercy, could only reply in a low and submissive voice.
Seeing this, Lis didn't say more, getting up and walking behind Angela.
