Lis looked at the Elf Great Sage Adela before him in astonishment and asked uncertainly,
"Are you referring to me?"
Lis certainly knew what an Elf Sage meant; after all, the Legendary Mage Adela in front of him was one of the Elf Sages of the Elf Clan—only, due to her noble status and formidable strength, she was respectfully called the [Elf Great Sage].
An Elf Sage is someone in the Elf Kingdom who possesses noble qualities and outstanding talents and is an object of pursuit and admiration for the elves.
In the Elf Kingdom, after breaking through the shackles to achieve legendary feats, those of the Legendary Rank among the elves would directly hold the honorary status of an elder in the Elf Kingdom.
The status of the Elf Elders is even more exalted; many of the Kingdom's decisions are made by the Elder Council, and they can even reject the King's commands.
Compared with Elf Elders, the status of an Elf Sage is even more special. An Elf Sage may not necessarily possess Legendary-level power, but only those elves who have made significant contributions to the Elf Clan might be awarded the honor of Elf Sage by the representatives of the Elf Gods.
For this reason, there are generally fewer Elf Sages than there are Elf Elders.
Although Elf Sages do not wield as much power in the Elf Clan as Elf Elders, in terms of status, there is little difference between the two.
Lis, having had experience in the Elf Forest in his past life, naturally understood the special status of an Elf Sage within the Elf Clan.
Take, for example, the lady known as [Green Shadow] Beyoncé, who founded Jade City. Lis had thought about gaining the support of the Elf Kingdom but never believed he would be awarded the title of an Elf Sage.
After all, he was a Human, not an Elf!
Being granted the title of Elf Sage was naturally a good thing for Lis.
He would be able to garner even more support from the Elf Kingdom, but it would also draw the enmity of some conservative forces within the Elf Clan.
This gave Lis somewhat of a headache, but overall it was still a beneficial situation.
"This is an honor bestowed upon you by Lord Fenrir!"
Adela's face revealed a gentle smile as she softly said,
"Of course, I am also very pleased that you, Lis, could become one of us."
As the Elf Great Sage, Adela was nominally the leader of all the Elf Sages.
But that title was merely ceremonial, as Elf Sages did not possess much actual power and had limited influence on the Elf Kingdom.
However, it ultimately gave Lis an excellent foothold to integrate with the Elf Clan.
"Lord Fenrir has already entrusted me. The Elf Kingdom will support your plan to eradicate the Abyss Demon invasion. If there is anything you need, please tell me."
Lucky for Lis, he didn't even have to ask for help, as Adela offered her cooperation spontaneously.
"I am honored to have your assistance, but at present, I have only a rough idea. I am not yet prepared on how to fulfill the promises to Lord Yggdrasil and Lord Fenrir," Lis nodded slightly but didn't just make demands.
Such a rare opportunity must be well-handled.
Adela didn't mind but smiled and nodded, saying,
"Having received such crucial news, we also have much to prepare."
"However, as the events that took place in the Elf Royal Court involve the World Tree, we will not disclose them to the public for the time being. I hope you can understand, Lis."
"Of course, there's no problem."
While going public with the exact details of the Royal Court's destruction would earn Lis tremendous prestige, it would also draw the attention of many with malicious intent towards him.
Lis, who preferred to develop in the shadows, didn't wish for that.
Compared to such empty fame, Lis preferred concrete gains.
Adela looked at Lis, hesitated for a moment, then turned to Daphne and said,
"I'm here, Sister Adela."
Upon hearing Adela calling her, Daphne quickly stepped forward and obediently asked,
"Sister Adela, do you have any tasks for me?"
The Daphne standing before Adela was like a calm and obedient Elf Girl, entirely unlike her previously mischievous demeanor.
"You will follow Sage Lis for the time being."
Before Lis could refuse, Adela looked over and said,
"Lis, I've heard from Cendelle that you once saved Daphne."
Lis waved his hand dismissively, saying in an unconcerned manner,
"It was no trouble at all, and I believe that even without me, Daphne wouldn't have had an issue."
Hearing Lis's words, Adela did not correct him but instead continued,
"Given the magnitude of the events at the Elf Royal Court, I was planning to go directly to the Elf Capital. However, I stayed here because of Daphne being in Jade City."
"Now that I've received such important news, I really must leave first."
