I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s Chapter 64

Because of this matter, the joy of Luo Anping’s recovery was greatly diminished. For the first time, Mrs. Qin felt like a fool, being schemed against for so many years. If it hadn’t been inadvertently discovered by Beisitian, they would have died without knowing that their blindness was caused by someone!

Although she didn’t know Qin Hongmei’s purpose in doing this, she could be sure that there was no substantial enmity between her and Qin Hongmei. The conflict was merely because they were sisters-in-law, and that’s all.

This Qin Hongmei was really too vicious. No matter what, she actually poisoned her eyes!

"Mom, I can cure your eyes."

Mrs. Qin was originally too angry to eat, but upon hearing Beisitian say this, she was completely stunned.

"What did you just say?" Mrs. Qin couldn’t believe her ears.

"I can cure your eyes," Beisitian repeated.

Luo Anguo, who was about to light a cigarette, paused and looked up at her. Mrs. Qin stared at her in a daze, and even Luo Anping had his mouth wide open.

"You, say it again?" Mrs. Qin’s voice was somewhat trembling.

Understanding her feelings, Beisitian curved her lips slightly and softly said, "If it was blindness caused by hard work, I might be powerless, but if it was from poisoning, and since we’ve found the root cause, I can cure it."

"Really?" Luo Anguo asked eagerly from the side.

If Beisitian had said this before, no one would have believed it, but now it was different. With her real skills, she had cured Luo Anping, not only allowing him to stand up again but also without leaving any after-effects, making him as good as new.

So when Beisitian said so, Luo Anguo believed it, and Mrs. Qin was willing to believe too, but she feared that the higher the expectations, the greater the disappointment might be.

Curing Mrs. Qin’s eye disease wasn’t difficult; however, the immediate issue was that Mrs. Qin had been blind for too long, so restoring her vision might take some time.

When informed by Mrs. Qin, she wasn’t afraid of the time it would take. Just a segment, even ten segments wouldn’t be an issue. It would be better than being blind for a lifetime, wouldn’t it?

She was only in her early fifties now, and there was still a long way to go in life!

Hearing Beisitian say she could cure Mrs. Qin’s eyes made Luo Anguo feel a warmth in his heart!

Beisitian was already planning to treat Mrs. Qin’s eyes, but some preparations had to be made first.

Luo Anping no longer needed the talismanic water. He was undergoing rehabilitation therapy daily, strolling around the yard and playing with the little wolf dog.

"Sis, it doesn’t have a name yet. Why don’t you give it one?" Luo Anping said, holding the little wolf dog.

"You can name it whatever you like," Beisitian said with a smile.

"Shouldn’t you name it, Sis? You brought it back," Luo Anping replied.

"Alright, let’s call it Zhuangzhuang then. Sturdy and strong, it’ll guard our house," Beisitian said with a smile.

Luo Anping held one of the dog’s paws and laughed, "Little guy, you have a name now, from now on you’ll be called Zhuangzhuang!"

The little wolf dog was howling as Luo Anping held its front paws, making it stand uncomfortably on its hind legs.

Seeing the person and the dog play so happily, Beisitian reminded them, "Don’t run, your leg still shouldn’t exert too much force."

"Got it~" Luo Anping answered loudly.

After lunch, Beisitian took the little wolf dog Zhuangzhuang up the mountain.

Since the last incident, she hadn’t gone into the mountains again.

This time, she wasn’t going to gather herbs; she was bringing some cornmeal to Zhou Tian.

This was something Zhou Tian had asked her to do last time. He wished to eat some cornmeal, as for so many years, he had only eaten wild berries and bark or meat, and had not had cornmeal for a long time.

Zhou Tian even wanted to use food coupons to exchange for cornmeal, but Beisitian hadn’t told him that food coupons were no longer in circulation.

Zhou Tian lived in a cave, a place higher up that most wild animals couldn’t reach. Furthermore, with the wolf dogs guarding, no wild animals dared to come near.

In the valley, there was a small river. The water Zhou Tian drank every day came from this river, which was also why he chose to settle there.

This cave was spacious, estimated to be over sixty square meters. It was dry and clean inside, and although some of the daily necessities were old and simple, they were fairly complete, with some evidently being things Zhou Tian had scavenged.

Zhou Tian took a big sip of cornmeal porridge, a look of satisfaction appearing on his face. It had been so long since he had had this, and the feeling was truly nostalgic!

Beisitian watched Zhuangzhuang and the mother wolf dog playing warmly together, along with its two brothers who joined in the fun. She smiled and asked, "Uncle Zhou, do you not plan on returning to live in the village?"

Zhou Tian paused his action of drinking porridge, then shook his head, "I won’t go back. I was driven out by them. Why go back? It’s more comfortable staying in the mountains with my old companions."

After a few encounters with Beisitian, Zhou Tian started consciously speaking more, and after practicing a bit, he was now much more fluent.

"In the future, whatever you want to eat, just tell me, and I’ll bring it to you," Beisitian said with a smile.

Some young people in the village no longer knew of Zhou Tian’s existence, while some older folks only cursed when mentioning him, speaking poorly of him.

However, Beisitian still trusted her own judgment. After several interactions with Zhou Tian, she found that he was simple-minded. Since childhood, he had been parentless, fed by households on turn. Growing up eating others’ charity made him disliked, so when he was older, Zhou Tian started fending for himself.

However, being still young, Zhou Tian couldn’t hunt in the mountains, and his family’s land had been taken by relatives, so he survived by scavenging. Later, when he was extremely hungry, he ventured into the mountains, nearly got lost, and even encountered a mother wolf.

Zhou Tian thought he was done for, but unexpectedly, the mother wolf didn’t kill him.

Later, when the mother wolf was weak after giving birth and had a fight with some wild animal, it was gravely injured and died, leaving behind six pups.

Zhou Tian noticed those six little creatures weren’t pure wolves, but rather the offspring of the mother wolf and a village dog.

Feeling that the little wolf dogs shared the same fate as him, Zhou Tian took pity and brought all six little wolf dogs back to the village.

Initially, it didn’t seem like much, but as the wolf dogs grew, many villagers started believing they were wolves.

"In those two years, winters arrived early, and without resources, the weasels came down to the village, stealing chickens. The villagers insisted my wolf dogs were responsible and demanded I kill them," Zhou Tian sneered.

These wolf dogs were his family, how could he possibly kill them?

"No matter how I explained, they wouldn’t believe me. They were convinced my wolf dogs were the culprits, even contacting the village head to persuade me. They demanded I either kill the wolf dogs or leave the village with them, warning me they’d kill the wolf dogs if I didn’t comply."

"So, in anger, you took the wolf dogs and moved to the mountains?" Beisitian asked.

Zhou Tian nodded and continued drinking his porridge.

This was the first time Beisitian heard Zhou Tian’s story, which differed greatly from what was spread in the village. However, in contrast to those rumors, she trusted Zhou Tian more.

Zhou Tian’s feelings for the wolf dogs surpassed the emotions most people had for each other.
