Hu Jin looked at the results of the report in a daze. Suddenly, he flung the police officer’s hand away like a madman and threw the report to the ground. Shen Yin stood up and took one last pitying look at this stubborn and cruel man before turning around and leaving the prison.
The case had been closed and the chain of evidence was complete. All that awaited Hu Jin was the court’s verdict. The perpetrators would eventually pay a painful price. In the days while he waited for death, he would be accompanied by the fear of death and endless regret.
At this point, the case came to an end. The rest was handed over to the prosecutor’s office.
Meng Heng suggested that they go and have a celebratory drink together. Shen Yin was depressed and wanted to drown her sorrows, so she nodded in agreement.
At the Lian Corporation’s headquarters, Shen Luo had been serving tea and water for the entire day. She was so tired that she could barely straighten her back. Her legs were almost broken from running around, but she still had not seen Lian Jing.
She pounded her lower back with her fists. She had just sat down at the front desk to catch her breath when her phone suddenly rang.
She swallowed her irritation and picked up the phone. She heard a man say formally, “Hello, I’m President Tian’s secretary, who contacted your company last time. President Tian has an invitation that he wants to trouble you to pass to President Lian.”
