I Became the Little Demon in Leading Role's Family Chapter 397

Bai Xin didn’t get angry when she heard this. Whether this worked out for her or not, it was just a matter of having a bit more or less assurance.

"Mom, you believe that I will definitely keep the books for you."

Afterward, she reluctantly gave Mu Yi a glance, her eyes filled with reluctance to part.

"Xinxin, I believe in you," Mu Yi said, looking at Bai Xin with especial tenderness.

Yet that made Bai Xin’s heart feel cold in waves. The so-called belief was just trust in her ability to keep the books accurately, not in her not to have to keep them. Such belief... really made her feel... screwed... over.

"Alright, then I’ll go again tomorrow. Resting for a day isn’t a problem. Taking care of you is more important."

It was just a blatant lie, after all. She could handle it. Doesn’t everyone have a first time? Likewise, after the first time, there would be countless more.

Mu Yi was like that, but she... didn’t want to be. Because she never wanted to see this person again.

"No need, Xinxin, I’m almost done here. Just take Bai Zhi with you. You can close up at six in the evening."

Mu Yi quickly gestured with his hands, a sudden closure wasn’t a good sign.

"Then, alright." Bai Xin agreed reluctantly and immediately left the hospital with Bai Zhi.

Looking at the key in her palm, Bai Xin took Bai Zhi to unlock the door. The grocery store was very ordinary and large, with everything available, from daily necessities to pots, pans, ladles, everything could be found there, along with some condiments like oil, salt, soy sauce, and vinegar.

Bai Zhi took a turn inside the store and didn’t notice anything unusual. Yet she didn’t think Moh Li would lie to her. There were no medicinal herbs in the store, yet inferior products were passed off as good ones.

She didn’t even smell the scent of any traditional Chinese medicine, nor saw any goods coming in or out. So where did he get the Chinese medicine from?

Bai Zhi started playing around at the cash register.

"Auntie, where do you think Uncle would usually keep his most important things?"

Bai Zhi thought that maybe Bai Xin would know something about it.

"The most important things are kept in sight, where he can see them, or on his person."

Anything Mu Yi liked, he had to keep it in front of him, whether it was food or other items.

Bai Zhi climbed onto the cashier’s seat, looking at the items in front of her: just a notebook, a pen, and all the money was in the drawer.

This was similar to a writing desk, with three drawers on both sides, the middle part was empty, only having one drawer.

Money was kept in the drawer, directly facing the cash register. To the left were beverages and trial products, and further on, pots, pans, ladles, along with things like shoes.

Sitting in the chair, her gaze could take in the entire grocery store.

Bai Xin wanted to go to the restroom, leaving Bai Zhi to watch the place by herself.

At that moment, someone came in.

"Boss, business is good today, huh?"

It was just this sentence that made Bai Zhi’s eyes narrow, the sign had come.

Moh Li had said before, they were like having secret signals, "Boss. Business is good today, huh."

If she said it was good, they would come back again in the evening, but if she said it wasn’t, the woman wouldn’t appear again.

Suddenly, Bai Zhi poked out her head and looked towards the woman with a smile.

This was a very ordinary-looking woman. She didn’t have Ye Xiu’s graceful demeanor, nor Bai Xin’s big sister aura.

She just had a very normal face, one you could pick out several of on any street.

Yet, was this ordinary woman really the one who made Mu Yi believe she had a child with him?

"Eh, where’s the boss? Little girl, who are you?"

Seeing Bai Zhi, she seemed a bit surprised, not understanding why she was here, or rather, Bai Zhi’s presence seemed somewhat shocking to her.
