Zixin sat cross legged on the dragon’s wound, the head was big, very big but that wasn’t the main point. The main point was the Dragon’s Blood Essence, surely it would be enough for him to grow stronger very quickly right and there wouldn’t be a shortage of it.
’Only one way to find out.’
Zixin chose to activate the Beastly Essence Refinement Technique. An illusory silhouette of a massive leech formed behind him and sank its teeth into the dragon’s head and began sucking. Zixin was hit with a massive amount of vital energy that he moaned in pleasure as his body devoured the vital energy.
With the increase in vital energy, Zixin’s internal and external injuries started to heal, at the same time, Zixin’s blood heated up and integrated the dragon’s vitality into itself. The flesh, bones, muscles and internal organs received the vitality baptism and Zixin’s body grew larger and taller. His heart grew bigger and his veins became wider, pumping more blood into the body and transporting the blood throughout the body very quickly due to the widened and strengthened veins.
Hours passed and Zixin absorbed the vitality till his body reached saturation, his heart had grown nine times larger and his veins were three centimetres wide. Also, he was now six meters tall with thick and refined muscles that made the muscles fit perfectly on his body.
After the Beastly Essence Refinement, Zixin activated the Totem Body Technique and more Blood Essence was absorbed into Zixin’s body. He then controlled the blood essence into his arms and legs then started to imprint a dragon totem. The process was very slow and painful but Zixin persevered, he had extremely high pain tolerance.
Soon, he’d carved dragon claw totems on both arms and legs. These totems covered the entire limbs and were like black ink tattoos. Zixin was about to stop the activation of the technique but then instinct kicked in and led him to draw another totem. This one was even more painful than the last one because it was drawn on its throat. Vivid like dragon scales were drawn on Zixin’s throat and lower jaw, making him look like someone from the hidden clans of the mountains.
The totem even reached his upper chest before finally being complete. After the last totem was drawn, Zixin felt great strength in his arms, legs and throat. There was still some Blood Essence left inside the dragon corpse but Zixin had completed the two techniques. He then shifted his gaze to the egg-like flames, the pillars and the chains on the floor.
’Let’s start with Refined Metal Body just to be safe.’ he said to himself and pulled out all four chains piercing through the dragon’s corpse. Surprisingly, he pulled them out without much difficulty and sat the centre of the cave and activated the Refined Metal Body Technique which slowly liquefied the chains.
The whole process took an entire day to melt both the pillars and chains and Zixin was tired but before completing the process, he wouldn’t rest. The powder metal entered his body through the pores and began to integrate with his bones, muscles, organs and skin. During the integration, Zixin felt Qi become vague by the second until he couldn’t sense or feel it anymore.
After the integration was complete, Zixin didn’t know why but he couldn’t change between the fleshly form and the metallic form like Wan Shui. He didn’t dwell much on the subject and shifted his attention to the last reward, the Dragon Flames.
He dragged the dragon corpse closer to the Dragon Flames and sat on its head. He then took deep breaths to calm himself down. Every fibre of his being was telling him not to fuck around with these flames unless he wanted to die.

Zixin lost complete control of his body as his senses and instincts took over. They locked onto the target then released a strong pulling force as well as a suppressive force that forced the flames to constantly shrink.
Behind Zixin, a silhouette of what seemed to be a flame covered beetle manifested. This beetle was very massive with powerful legs, capable of lifting mountains hundreds of times its own size. In the presence of this beetle, the flames became submissive.
’What kind of technique is this?! What fucking kind of technique is?! What has the outside world become for such powerful techniques to exist?! Are the Dragons still Overlords or has even that changed! Why did I even come to this cursed world! I should have remained in the Dragon World!’ said the old dragon who was watching everything from inside his flames.
Zixin then opened his mouth and swallowed the flames in one gulp. The dragon scales totem activated and allowed Zixin’s throat to swallow the flames without being burned to ashes and the real refinement began. The flames were changed into a lava-like liquid that then spread throughout Zixin’s body.
Screamed Zixin in agonising pain as his entire body was in intense pain, a thousand times more painful than the Burning Flesh bath he’d taken. Zixin squirmed and crashed into the walls but the pain didn’t recede but intensified instead.
Cracks appeared all over his body as terrifying heat permeated through those cracks. He was literally being burnt inside out and was hallucinating or at least thought so because of the voice he was hearing.
Zixin’s mind exploded and the pain of the flames’ refinement lessened and he could finally breathe. His body moved on instinct, lay on the dragon’s corpse and began devouring the Blood Essence and healed the scorched body, the burnt flesh fell on the ground. After a while, the flames’ refinement was successful and Zixin underwent yet another transformation.
