When the Yeti looked down, it saw a tiny black larvae covered in blue flames, making the larvae beautiful and mesmerising. The Yeti only appreciated the larvae’s beauty for a moment before clarity returned and it recognised the symbol of the blue flames and knelt before the larvae.
[Greetings My Lord, my name is Nior and I represent the Snow Monkey Demon Clan.] said Nior, his body completely and utterly towering over the larvae who was like an ant compared to him but Nior didn’t let size fool him and remained respectful. He even shrunk his body to about a kilometre in height.
[I am Zixin, Xong Zixin. As a Class Ten Noble Demon, I can do whatever I want here and no one will say anything. Now, there’s a game that I and the Ancient Warzone settlers are gonna play, this game is called Tower Defence.]
Tower Defence?] Nior raised an eyebrow.
[Yes, the game is called Tower Defence. It’s quite simple actually, all y’all have to do is defend your homes from being decomposed by me. All the limbs scattered on this place will be piled up to create a tower, same with the incomplete corpses. Like any other game, there should also be rules and my rules are also simple. The Limbs Tower will be protected by Limbs residents, the Incomplete Corpse Tower will also be defended by its own residents, same with the complete corpses in here. If these rules are broken, then I don’t mind participating in this game and ending it early.] said Zixin while touching Nior.
When his six claws grabbed Nior’s arm, Nior shuddered and quickly jumped back with fear filled eyes.
[Now go and relay my message to the bosses of this place and you only have three months to prepare the towers.]
[As you command My Lord!] replied Nior and quickly ran away without looking back. How could he not run away for his life when Zixin’s mere touch made him lose almost all his strength?
In a blink of an eye, three years had passed and nothing had happened. The limbs had been piled up to create a small mountain as Zixin had ordered but the man himself hadn’t made a move in these three years.
In the Ancient Warzone, deep underground, a cavern had been built. It was large and spacious but also empty. There was only ten people here, Zixin, Ciel, Harl, Shilin, Wan Shui, Fatso, Tiger and Torta and his two skeletons.
They sat around Zixin who was covered in blue flames and not a single maggot was on sight. This has been the case after Zixin had met with Nior, not moving a single inch.
"For how long are we supposed to sit , I want to go outside! I want to kill! I want to bathe in blood!" said Tiger as he stood up and paced around.
"Are you tired of protecting Master, if so, you can leave if you want." replied Fatso, making Tiger’s fur to stand on ends.
"I’ll go after the master has woken up! Fatso, are you trying cause me trouble?!" said Tiger angrily.
"Is My Lord really that scary? He seems like a carefree person to me." said Harl.
"Master might look simple and kind but there’s more to him than meets the eye. Although he does his best to hide it, Master really enjoys bullying others, especially the weak and helpless. He goes out of his way just to kill them, I always found that strange." explained Wan Shui.
"He likes it? I thought that he hated doing it, like he’s forcing himself to become something that he’s not." said Fatso. Ever since he started cultivating the Star Abacus Technique, his eyes and mind has become sharper.
[Hahaha, I’ve been cultivating for three years and when I wake up, you’re gossiping about me, interesting.] sounded Zixin’s voice.
[Don’t worry, I’m not going to punish you. All of you leave this place, there isn’t enough space.]
Everyone was confused but still flew out of the cavern without asking further questions. There was a hole in the ceiling that led outside.
Dong! Dong! Dong! Dong!
They hadn’t gone far before sounds of heavy bodies landed on the ground and when the group looked down, ten thousand meters long maggots spawned from thin air and it wasn’t just one or two, it was thousands of them and more were still spawning. These crimson maggots each had a flickering blue flame on their maggot heads and and also had leech-like mouths filled with razor sharp teeth.
Screech! Screech! Screech! Screech!
The maggots screeched in excitement, soon, the cavern was completely cramped, it was then that the maggots did something utterly astounding. The ground became soft and they swam through it like fish in water, an ability exclusive to Sandworms and Zixin. More and more maggots kept spawning from thin air and their numbers had already reached the millions and still rising.
After the group flew out of the underground cavern, the ground leading deeper into the Ancient Warzone collapsed and further ahead, more land was collapsing. From the collapsed land, crimson maggots could be seen swimming through it, their direction towards the mountain of gargantuan limbs of fallen powerhouses.
In about thirty minutes or so, Wan Shui and the others found themselves levitating above an ocean of maggots, literally. These maggots occupied a ten light years space so one could only imagine just how many there were. The earth had turned so soft that if someone stepped on it, they would immediately be buried beneath the soil.
After the red maggots finished spawning, grey larvae began rising from the ground and they too had a flickering blue flame on their heads and were even larger than maggots, standing at ten kilometres in length. These larvae also came out in droves. If these maggots and larvae were in space, one would mistake them for a minor plane.
Zixin also rose up from the ground with four humanoid monsters standing around him. These humanoid monsters were covered in bone armour mixed with exoskeleton, making it almost impenetrable.
[Let’s go! I want to hear these weaklings squeal when they die, hahaha!]
