If it really turns into a scenario of multiple meteor strikes, then it’s quite likely that Flame Country will use their spacecraft to push away the largest of the meteors, while the remaining ones will head straight for the Blue Planet.
The nuclear missiles prepared by the Lucians could break up some of the meteors, or perhaps shatter them entirely. But even if shattered entirely, the world would still face a massive meteor shower.
And if even one sizeable meteor isn’t shattered...
People could redraw the world map, including the outlines of all continents.
This is why Chen Xin is skeptical about the success of this mission; there are too many uncertain factors influencing the overall success rate.
But humanity no longer has the time or the luxury to ponder these issues; there are truly only two choices before humanity: make a desperate attempt to possibly survive, or do nothing and accept the same fate as the dinosaurs, pulling 90% of the world’s species into extinction together.
Thus, humanity can only give it their all, adopting this most feasible plan with a certain success rate, hoping to save the Blue Planet and humanity.

Chen Xin prayed devoutly to all the deities, reciting the names of every god he could think of, not even sparing the Ancient Dominators and Outer Gods. At times , even having an indescribable entity driving humanity insane would be far preferable to a meteor crashing down on everyone.
However, prayers are ultimately just for psychological comfort. After his prayers, Chen Xin sorted out some things at home that needed to be moved to the shelter, packing them into boxes and moving them in.
Supplies like food and water had already been transported down once the shelter was dug out. Even Chen Xin’s car had been driven down and parked in the reserved garage.
All he’s moving down now are just some daily essentials, personal items, and change of clothes.
As for electronics like computers, televisions, and gaming consoles, the TV stayed at home. Only the computer and gaming console were moved down, leaving the TV to be dealt with based on the situation after this mission concludes.
Although anticipating possible failure, with the apocalypse looming, loss of internet and power is foreseeable, Chen Xin’s shelter hosts only him. According to his estimate, he’ll need to hide underground for at least a year; such a long time without something to pass the time could truly be distressing.
As for EMP blasts caused by meteor impact disturbing the ionosphere, it’s not much of a concern for Chen Xin. His shelter was built using container houses, effectively creating a Faraday cage with metal materials, and being buried deep underground, the EMP’s impact on his electronics is limited.
After arranging the moved items, Chen Xin checked the three-tons of gasoline stored in a custom-made large tank. He spent considerable effort and tapped into his father’s old connections to acquire them. This gasoline would be all the fuel reserves he has for the next one or two years.
Of course, this gasoline wasn’t meant to be burned for heating or cooking, nor for the car parked in the garage. Although, he would use it for cooking or driving if necessary, but its current purpose goes beyond that.
The truth is, Chen Xin stored this gasoline to generate electricity after a power outage.
While setting up the underground shelter, Chen Xin anticipated power loss issues and specifically bought two small household generators.
These small household generators are extremely compact, a single adult can carry one with each hand, generating power from 3-10KW, entirely sufficient for household use.
Chen Xin bought two generators rated at 5.5KW, considered medium-sized, each fuel tank holding about 20 liters, working at full capacity for 12-15 hours when full.
With the three tons of gasoline stored, it’s enough for a full year’s use with surplus.
Realistically, usage is moderated, not burning through an entire tank in a single day, that would be too wasteful.
Chen Xin equipped the shelter with a large battery, planning to use the generator for six to eight hours daily. Besides meeting daily power needs, excess electricity will be stored to conserve fuel.
After all, there aren’t any high-powered appliances in the shelter, just an induction cooker, an electric blanket, and any electronic devices Chen Xin might use. This is more than enough for the small household generators he prepared, requiring only one-third of a day’s operation to ensure daily power usage.
Even with an expected prolonged night and lingering winter spanning several decades, Chen Xin has only gathered so much resource.
As for whether these supplies can sustain him through a year, and what to do once they’re depleted after a year, Chen Xin remains optimistic.
Based on the national preparations seen, as long as the meteor doesn’t directly strike Flame Country in the coming year, the essential societal structure and most of the population should be preserved. Although everyone may have to live in underground shelters, ultimately they will survive.
During a year’s time, with environmental stabilization, the nation will initiate reconstruction, restoring social order.
At that time, finding food and fuel should be feasible, or in the worst-case scenario, there’s reliance on official shelters. He’s not worried about his survival prospects then.
After once again inventorying his supplies, ensuring they align with his estimated sufficiency for one year plus a few extra months, Chen Xin left the shelter home, re-turning his focus to the latest progress of the rescue mission.
Despite being skeptical of this rescue mission’s success rate, if they manage to save the Blue Planet, Chen Xin would be thrilled not having to spend the rest of his life in a shelter.
Yet the spacecraft wasn’t quick, based on human-launched spacecraft speed, they require approximately four to five days to reach Lunar orbit. They must first leverage Blue Planet’s gravity for acceleration, to conserve flight time and precious fuel.
They’ve just completed the first orbit around Blue Planet for gravitational assistance. Subsequently, they’ll need to circle Blue Planet two more times to gain sufficient kinetic energy and speed, then fly to the Moon, landing on the meteor’s surface near Lunar orbit to commence the rescue mission.
