First, was Ashok's very name in the Status which even the World had decided not to toy with. Who could say when he might hold a grudge and conduct another ancient ritual?
But for now, Ashok had no choice but to accept the name of Adlet, a temporary guise that he would wear for as long as he remained at the Academy. If this was the body of a commoner, the name would hardly matter, for them name is a mere label to distinguish one person from another. But for someone with noble blood in their veins, even if exiled from their family's seat of power, the name itself held immeasurable weight. For Nobles, Names and Titles were the very foundation upon which their existence stood.
The reason Ashok's name did not appear in the bracket, replaced instead by Adlet, was because the World understood Ashok's personality.
The connection between the World and an individual's Status was deceptively simple yet profoundly intricate. A Status is a holographic representation, a constantly shifting reflection of the individual's current state, visible only to the concerned individual. Once the Divine Authority of Fate and Adlet's soul, which had been forcibly imposed upon Ashok, were removed, the consequences were immediate. This removal resulted in Ashok's body becoming incapable of accepting the Divine Energy that once belonged to the God of Fate. The reason for this transformation was that the soul which had chosen to serve the God of Fate was no longer present.
In this World, the number of classes available is innumerable. All of these innumerable classes are derived from three main categories: Close Combat Type, Long Range Type, and Support. Once a Job is chosen during the Awakening—a critical, irreversible moment in a person's life—it becomes fixed. No matter the circumstances, not even someone like Ashok could alter his class, even if he wanted.
For him, the Priest Job, which he acquired due to Adlet's choice, belongs to the Support category. The conditions to become a Priest are straightforward yet significant: one must serve any God from any faction, and God must accept their servitude.
What Ashok felt a sense of relief about was that his Job didn't shift to that of a Fallen Priest, a job evolution for a Priest who abandons their God. Since considering the history of his body, which had once served the God of Fate. He had dreaded the possibility of transforming into a Fallen Priest, a useless class marked by a permanent restriction to divine power and a major debuff to the body.
Ashok managed to avoid that, instead of becoming a Fallen Priest, he just found himself with an unexpected shift in alignment. Now, he was a Priest of Morrathis. Even though, He never asked to serve her, nor had she actively accepted his servitude.
Some things in life are forced, not accepted, just as Ashok had been forced into accepting the Priest Class. Similarly, due to his Soul Partner bond with a Goddess, he became her Priest. Their special connection is unlike the traditional acceptance of servitude to a god.
'I am sure she knows this as well. Though, I don't expect any kind of help from her anytime soon,' thought Ashok as he glanced at the Faction Alignment.
The Faction Alignment is a unique aspect that only applies to Support Jobs, and it is directly influenced by the alignment of the God the individual serves.
For Ashok, his alignment had shifted to Evil due to the goddess he bounded himself to—Morrathis—who embodies the purest form of evil. Look at her Divinities - Corruption and Abyss both of the Authorities have the power to unleash chaos on an unimaginable scale.
There is a reason why she was the Hidden Final Boss in the game.
The Faction Alignment plays a critical role in how Priests increase their Divine Energy Stat, which is fundamentally different from every other stat.
For Good Alignment: Helping People and Spreading their God's Influence over the World. The greater the contribution the greater the Increase in Divine Energy.
For Neutral Alignment: Priests who fall into the Neutral Alignment take on the role of fulfilling tasks assigned by their god. Whether those tasks involve maintaining balance, carrying out specific missions, or aiding in the natural flow of the world, the more tasks they complete successfully, the greater the Increase in their Divine Energy.
For Evil Alignment: Doing Evil Deeds. The Nature of Evil deed decides the increase in Divine Energy. There is a difference of evil in stealing a child's lollipop, and killing the child.
As for Ashok's Bloodline, he had no clear understanding of what it truly was. So, until he confirms, he cannot awaken it. This body once belonged to the Cindergarde Family but what if the God of Fate had altered it?
Bloodlines are not solely decided by birth. They are flexible, mutable, and can be modified or changed through various means. There are countless items, ingredients, and rituals scattered throughout the world, capable of altering the very nature of a bloodline.
Ashok had no Affinity; it wasn't the Void. He was Affinityless because of the Trait Cursed One.
