I Got My System Late, But I'll Become Beastgod Chapter 131

The wind whistled softly through the glowing leaves as Aamir walked across the moss-covered roots of an enormous tree. His feet barely made a sound on the forest floor. Birds with crystal wings fluttered from branch to branch overhead, and somewhere in the distance, a beast let out a low, rumbling growl before fading into silence again.

This had become his routine.

Every morning — or whatever "morning" meant in this sunless, glowing realm — Aamir would set out from the small home base he’d built with Hornhead and patrol the surrounding forest. The area was slowly becoming more familiar, even though the terrain still shifted slightly now and then. There were trails marked with stacked stones, bushes cleared away for better vision, and even a few ponds they’d cleaned to drink from.

Beasts were starting to gather here — not as enemies, but as members of a strange, growing kingdom.

Aamir stood on top of a boulder, gazing at the area around Home Root. A faint breeze stirred his messy hair as his eyes scanned the quiet formation of his little domain.

Several smaller creatures chirped and played near a pond — a group of forest-dwelling squirrel-beasts that had begun building nests near the clearing. The panther-like beast with electric fur, who he’d named Bolt, watched from the shadows, its glowing stripes pulsing gently.

Even Hornhead had taken responsibility for patrolling the borders. Aamir once watched him chase off two rogue predators without lifting a horn — just a low grunt was enough.

"I don’t know if I’m becoming a king... or just the weird uncle everyone tolerates because I feed them."

"They follow your scent trail. They mark your territory with their behavior. It is instinctive recognition. Whether you accept it or not, your rule has already begun."

Aamir raised an eyebrow. "So I’m basically the jungle’s mayor."

They didn’t speak. They didn’t obey in the usual way.

But they followed him.

Some watched him from the trees, others guarded the borders while Hornhead lazed under the giant fruit tree they now called "Home Root." It was strange... but comforting.

Still, Aamir hadn’t let his guard down.

This was the Eternal Dungeon — and if he’d learned anything by now, it was that nothing stayed peaceful forever.

He paused beside a large, vine-draped stone pillar that looked like it had once been part of an ancient gate. His eyes scanned the woods beyond.

Everything looked calm.

A sharp cry pierced the silence.

It was more like a desperate yelp — the sound of something being chased, something cornered.

Aamir’s body moved before his mind did.

As he dashed between low-hanging vines and glowing mushrooms, a strange feeling stirred in Aamir’s chest — one he hadn’t felt in a long time.

It was responsibility.

But for someone weaker.

Someone who might not survive unless he got there in time.

"Come on... just hang on..." he muttered, leaping over a fallen trunk.

"I’ve been there. Cornered. Alone. Not today."

He sprinted through the trees, pushing past glowing ferns and ducking under branches. The cry echoed again, closer now.

Then he broke into a clearing.

What he saw made him stop.

A small beast — about the size of a lion cub, with sleek blue scales and glowing eyes — was backed up against a tree. Its sides heaved with panic. Blood dripped from its leg. Its long tail, tipped with a glowing tuft, was coiled in fear.

Towering in front of it was a massive predator.

A creature of stone and vines — like a mutated saber-toothed tiger. Its claws were black like obsidian, its eyes deep red, and thick bark armor covered its shoulders and spine. Two long fangs jutted from its jaw, gleaming like ivory blades.

The predator snarled.

The little beast whimpered.

Aamir’s fists clenched.

He didn’t know why, but something inside him reacted. A strange mix of anger... and protectiveness.

The predator turned its head just as Aamir leapt forward and delivered a solid kick to its flank.

It roared and stumbled back, more shocked than hurt.

Aamir landed between the two beasts, spreading his arms protectively in front of the injured one.

"Pick on someone your own size, stone-face."

The predator growled louder and pounced.

Aamir ducked, rolled, and countered with a punch to the beast’s jaw. But its hide was tougher than anything he’d fought before. His hand stung from the impact.

Still, he didn’t back down.

He glanced at the smaller beast, which was still frozen in fear. "Get outta here!"

The predator lunged again.

Aamir barely dodged the claws and spun around to land a knee into its side. This time, it snarled in pain — but its eyes flared with fury.

It was getting serious now.

Aamir breathed hard. His body still hadn’t fully recovered from yesterday’s wandering. He could feel his stamina dropping fast.

The predator lashed again. Aamir jumped back — just barely missing a swipe that tore a chunk from the tree behind him.

"You’re fast for something that looks like a fallen tree trunk," he muttered.

But his breath was getting shorter. The beast wasn’t just big — it was smart. It kept forcing him to circle back toward the injured cub, trying to trap him between its jaws and the tree.

Aamir narrowed his eyes.

"You’re not just muscle... you’re hunting smart."

He glanced at the smaller beast. Its eyes were locked on him now — wide, trembling, but... hopeful.

That was all he needed.

The predator lunged again — claws raised, mouth wide.

Aamir raised his arms to block—

And then it happened.

Not brightly — just a faint shimmer, like crimson and gold mist rising from his skin.

The predator stopped mid-air.

Aamir didn’t know what was happening. His instincts kicked in. A deep growl rose in his throat. Not human. Not practiced.

It came from somewhere older... deeper...

It was a ROAR that shook the trees, made the ground tremble, and caused even the birds above to scatter in panic.

The predator froze mid-leap, eyes wide with something that looked almost like fear.

Then — it landed... and ran.

It turned and fled into the trees like a hunted creature.

Aamir stood there, panting, his fists still clenched and his heart hammering in his chest.

The crimson-gold glow around him faded slowly.

The forest grew quiet again.

Behind him, the smaller beast let out a soft, uncertain chirp.

It stepped forward cautiously, blood still dripping from its leg. But instead of running... it knelt.

Like a gesture of submission.

Aamir’s eyes widened.

Then Luman’s voice echoed in his mind.

"Your Alpha Gene is maturing."

"What the hell was that roar?" Aamir asked, still trying to steady his breathing.

"An instinctual dominance display. Your body is beginning to exert presence over lesser beasts. They feel your authority now — even before your mind does."

Aamir looked at his hands.

"They’re... afraid of me?"

"Some will fear. Others will follow. You are no longer simply a guest in this dungeon, Aamir. You are starting to become a ruler."

The little beast whimpered and licked his foot gently.

Aamir knelt, gently patting its head.

"Easy, buddy. You’re safe now."

The creature purred — or at least made a noise like it — and leaned against him.

"...Guess we’re building a real team now, huh?"

The forest around him remained still — but the feeling in the air had changed.

Something had awakened.

And Aamir was just starting to understand what that meant.

"You look like... I dunno, a glow-lizard and a puppy had a kid."

He thought for a moment.

"How about Spark? Yeah. You’re small, but you’ve got fire."

The creature chirped again.

Aamir sighed. "So what now? I go full jungle-lord and make a beast army?"

"Perhaps not yet. But understand this: the Alpha Gene is more than just dominance. It is a link. A network. When fully awakened, your thoughts can guide those who follow you. You will lead not just by strength... but by connection."

"More like shared instinct. As they grow stronger under your rule, so will you."

"...This is starting to sound less like surviving... and more like evolving."

"That is the purpose of this Dungeon. Not escape. Evolution."

As Aamir walked back toward Home Root with Spark limping beside him, a faint vibration passed through the ground.

Spark perked its head up.

Then a low hum echoed from deep in the woods — distant, but powerful.

Like something ancient waking up.

"A presence has stirred. Something old. And watching."

Aamir turned his head toward the direction of the hum.

"Tomorrow," he whispered, "we explore that way."

The wind blew softly again, rustling the glowing leaves like whispers of forgotten names.
