The final words utterly plunged Lin Fan into contemplation.
False... A false theory.
He was dazed, a bit bewildered; the theory he had chased all night was actually false.
Mengmeng made a crying sound.
The cry pulled Lin Fan back to reality, he closed the book, turned off the desk lamp, and as he fed Mengmeng the milk powder, he changed her diaper without saying a word, thinking about what had just happened.
As if he had come to an understanding.
He couldn’t help but smile.
"Let the false theory be false, we still need to keep going; such thoughts are probably unrealistic."
After pacifying Mengmeng, he let her lie alone in the bed, stretching out her hands and grasping at the air with yelps, while he went to the balcony and took a deep breath, looking at the distant city.
The morning light shone upon it.
Lin Fan stretched and thought, let’s start this new day off right.
Lin Fan, holding the book he had finished last night, met with Qi Sheng downstairs.
"I read a book last night."
Qi Sheng asked with confusion, "What book?"

Xiaowu was very anxious.
If it were them, young people with fevers in an apocalypse, they wouldn’t think about finding medicine but would rather endure it.
Dawu’s expression was very serious, and after a moment of silence, he said, "I’ll go find medicine, I’ll go out and find medicine."
The grandfather lying on the bed was a bit delirious, but seemed to hear what the two kids were saying.

But still, the grandfather managed to stand, his shaky and frail form evoking pity.

The grandfather walked to the balcony, aware of his condition. Even without sickness, he wouldn’t live much longer; his age had taken its toll, it was pointless to burden these two kids.
Although these two kids used to be thieves, they hadn’t made any major mistakes, they knew how to change after recognizing their faults, they were still good kids. After all, as the saying goes, to err is human; even sages make mistakes.
He went to the balcony and moved a plastic stool.
He was ready to jump down from the fourth floor.

Dawu and Xiaowu carefully climbed down, while also keeping an eye out for zombies. As they made their way down, three zombies wandering below noticed them and gave out howling cries.
But to them, these howls were useless.

Xiaowu, who glanced up at the fourth floor, suddenly changed expression dramatically, "Grandpa, what are you doing?"
Hearing the shout, Dawu too sensed something was wrong and quickly looked up at the fourth floor. When he saw what was happening, he was utterly shocked and even terrified.
"Grandpa, get back inside."
The grandfather, about to climb out of the window, looked down at the two good kids struggling to descend the building, sighed, and reflected.
