"There should be no issues. My father divided the settlement into four sections, dispersing their people so they don’t have much contact usually. He’s always supplied the basics to ensure everyone can eat well, so there should be no discontent among the survivors."
"Yes, as long as it’s fine, just keep working hard, and eventually, hope will arrive."
The two of them chatted casually.
The folks of the district were exercising quite casually.
Yan Nini stayed by Lin Fan’s side as if she were telling a joke, her eyes nearly squinting into crescent moons, while Lin Fan occasionally laughed, nodding his head as if agreeing with what Yan Nini was saying.
Qiu Bing led a group of children around the district to exercise their bodies.

Old Man Wang and Old Man Zhou played chess, with sighs from Old Man Wang heard every now and then.
He seemed to be muttering too.

Su Xiaoxiao stuck her head out and called, "Everyone, the freshly made bread is out from the oven, come and get it if you want some."
Hearing there was fresh bread.
Everyone immediately dropped what they were doing and hurried over.
Yan Nini also hurried over, saying she wanted to buy some bread.
Lin Fan watched the scene before him with a smile. This was the scenario he wanted to see, the one he had always thought of protecting in the Sunshine District, everyone’s faces brimming with genuine happiness and smiles full of hope for the future.
There might be crafty and cunning survivors outside, but whenever he came back to the Sunshine District, all negative emotions would vanish like smoke.
"This is what you wanted to see, isn’t it?" Gu Hang came up to Lin Fan and said with a smile.
Lin Fan responded, "Yes, isn’t it what everyone wants to see? Such scenes were common in the past, but since the apocalypse, these scenes have become something we need to actively protect to make happen."
Gu Hang sighed, "Yeah, Lin Fan, have you ever thought, if one day in the future we actually clear all the zombies, how many humans would still be alive?"
Lin Fan said, "There should be quite a few, I guess."
Listening to what Lin Fan said, Gu Hang felt a sigh in his heart. He actually felt that the number of people alive would be quite few. From his recent observations, the zombies were evolving, diversifying, showing signs of a new species emerging while the old species were being phased out.
This trend was slightly hindered merely because of Lin Fan’s presence.

That was truly hard to imagine.
Lin Fan, looking at Gu Hang, said, "Hang, you don’t think humans will go extinct, do you?"
Gu Hang smiled, "Of course not."
Lin Fan firmly said, "Yes, of course not, I believe we won’t."
In the midst of their conversation.
Yan Nini came running back, "Lin, here, have some bread."
"Thank you." Lin Fan smiled as he took the bread.
Seeing Gu Hang there, Yan Nini handed another piece of bread to him, "Hang, have some bread."
Gu Hang smiled and waved his hand, "I’ll pass."
Lin Fan transformed into a lone ranger, walking on the streets. It was hard to spot zombies in the areas that had been thoroughly cleared, but he needed to continue moving outward, clearing the groups of zombies that had not yet been dealt with.
The only trouble was that the areas already cleared were piled with zombie corpses, contaminating the environment.
A zombie appeared in the distance.
It was an Evolutionary Zombie.
"Another special type of Powerful Zombie has appeared," he muttered.
The zombie in front of him still had a robust frame, a towering shoulder bearing one eye, and its fingers were long sharp claws, lightly sliding across a utility pole, emitting a grating sound.
The sharpness was terrifying.
Just as Lin Fan was ready to act, a bursting sound came from nearby.
From the adjacent building, a woman wearing sunglasses, her hair tied in a ponytail, clad in combat attire, was holding an unknown firearm. She shot at the Powerful Zombie.
Instead, a metal net instantly enveloped the Powerful Zombie, with something anchoring the corners of the net to the ground, deeply rooted in the concrete.
a vehicle approached from a distance—it was a massive road roller—crushing over the body of the Powerful Zombie with force. As it splattered, the driver who seemed quite skilled at maneuvering the machine managed to grind the body into mincemeat while keeping the head intact.
Then someone else emerged from the corner, neatly slicing open the Powerful Zombie’s head, directly retrieving the crystal hidden inside.
The sight left Lin Fan incredibly surprised.
"So strong," he exclaimed.
Truly impressive; until now, he had never seen a survivor team that cooperated so well.
Suddenly, he saw the female survivor responsible for shooting descend from the building using a rope, touching down on the ground, detaching the rope, and then hopping onto the road roller before driving off into the distance.
Lin Fan watched quietly.
As the group of survivors departed, he wanted to find out where they lived and then followed behind them.
Inside the road roller.
"Yang Lu, you’re too strong—that shot was so precise." The driver was an aging man, very familiar with the road roller, definitely someone who had often operated heavy machinery, possibly even during peacetime.
Yang Lu laughed, "Don’t flatter me; your driving skills are absolutely amazing, crushing it down to just a head, ensuring the crystal remained intact."
The man responsible for collecting the crystal said, "This zombie’s crystal should be of great quality; it has started turning from white to black."
"Ah, these special types of zombies are becoming more difficult to handle," Yang Lu said helplessly.
"Yeah, it’s only these large zombies that are easy to deal with. Those quick-moving zombies with limbs are truly terrifying; they even dodge, making it very hard to catch them with a net gun."
"Remember that time we passed the mall? It was freaking hell on earth, a pile of zombie corpses, and many special types of zombies were killed. Who do you think managed that? They must be really strong," one commented.
"Who knows, but I just saw a survivor watching us hunt zombies," another added.
"What? I didn’t notice."
"If you didn’t notice, you didn’t notice. It’s better to cause less trouble; our refuge can’t afford to go through that kind of thing again,"
