Lin Fan stood on the rooftop searching for the zombies Zhu Cheng had mentioned.
He had cleared a large area around him.
It was now rare for any zombies to be around.
Now that there were zombies, he took it very seriously; he had to consider the safety of Sunshine District.
"None." Lin Fan leaped around, searching for signs of zombies. His ears quivered slightly, listening for the faintest sounds, determined not to miss any clue.
a zombie that crawled like an animal looked in the direction of the human sanctuary.
It vibrated its throat, emitting a deep growl.
Its thoughts were simple; it wanted to breach the human sanctuary and devour the freshest flesh and blood. However, it did not act rashly, instead waiting for a vulnerability in the sanctuary to appear.
For instance, if a survivor came out, it would hide in the darkness, waiting for an opportunity to strike before the other could react, dragging the prey into the dark alley.
the mysterious zombie’s pale eyes shifted around, feeling an odd sensation, as if it were being watched by something, a feeling it did not enjoy, as it was usually the one watching its prey without being noticed by an unknown entity.
Turning its head, it searched for that unfriendly sensation.
the mysterious zombie abruptly raised its head, looking toward the rooftop and saw a figure standing there, calmly observing it.
The sudden turn of events made the mysterious zombie’s body tremble slightly.
"Truly a strange zombie, this must be the one Zhu Cheng described as shining with a Golden Crystal, the same one that chased Zhu Ming and devoured his family,"
Lin Fan thought about Zhu Ming’s place, several hundred kilometers away from Huang City. They had driven a sedan, and it would be difficult for zombies to follow them all that way.
Yet, this zombie had managed to follow all the way here.
it was quite frightening.
He had located the mysterious zombie and hadn’t made a sound to alert it but quietly observed, curious to see what was so special about this zombie.
Well... it was very alert.
He hadn’t made a move, merely observing it, yet it sensed his gaze, showing some ability indeed.
Lin Fan greeted the mysterious zombie as was his habit. There were no other zombies around, and he wanted to see what was special about this one. If he didn’t want to find out, he would have already drawn his sword and struck; maybe this creature couldn’t even block one of his strikes.
The mysterious zombie growled softly and retreated slightly, sensing the danger the human on the rooftop posed to it.
Lin Fan continued analyzing.
It didn’t rage or roar like other zombies; it even thought of retreating, possessing a Golden Crystal just like the hybrid zombies.
And like the hybrid zombies seeing me, it would attack, obviously, the mysterious zombie must feel that my presence is somewhat dangerous.
Lin Fan jumped down and landed on the ground, looking directly at the mysterious zombie.
For any other zombie seeing Lin Fan, would it be a standoff? Definitely not, it would pounce like a rabid dog, viciously devouring his flesh.
Instead of looking tense and even retreating.
the mysterious zombie suddenly fled, moving its limbs with agility more terrifying than that of the speed-type zombies.
"Impressive, ready to run?"
Lin Fan chased after the fleeing mysterious zombie, "Good fellow, faster than a speed-type zombie, even hybrid zombies might not match its pace."
A quick observation revealed the terrifying aspect of this zombie.
Could it be similar to a hybrid zombie?
As the fleeing mysterious zombie looked back, suddenly, a shadow clung to its line of sight, and the next moment, it felt its legs grabbed, its body no longer under its control.
Lin Fan grabbed the mysterious zombie’s leg and slammed it towards the ground.
a dull sound echoed, and the ground cracked, spreading out like a spider web.
Lin Fan, the perpetrator of this act, looked on as if nothing were amiss, still curious.
The mysterious zombie shook its head, dazedly getting up.
"Strong body as well, a regular zombie would have shattered, even Evolutionary Zombies would be the same."
He continued his simple analysis.
He didn’t have Zhu Cheng’s abnormal ability, his understanding of zombies had to rely on his detailed observations.
The mysterious zombie growled lowly at Lin Fan, its normally robust limbs suddenly swelling, sinews twining around, and with a pop, black claws burst forth, even scratching marks into the concrete ground.
A flesh tail sprouting from the tailbone whipped around, hitting the ground with a dull sound, indicating just how fierce the force was.
"When infuriated, the body mutates to have beast-like claws emerge, this is an evolution, definitely not an ordinary zombie, truly impressive."
