"Hmm... Why would any Monitoring Zombie knowingly lead humans here, despite being tracked by them?"
He pondered, and suddenly it dawned on him.
"I see now, the Monitoring Zombie knows it’s being tracked, but trusts the Spiritual Zombie to handle the humans, wanting to lure them here. It seems the Spiritual Zombie inside must be quite formidable."
Lin Fan was shocked by the cunning and deceit of the zombies.
Even zombies were this crafty.
Could humans really outplay them?
He felt a sense of worry.
He arrived at the entrance of the cave and walked inside. The dim, dank cave emitted a rotting smell, which was advantageous for zombies but dangerous for humans.
He could faintly hear the low growls of zombies.
A whooshing sound approached, and he grabbed a sticky substance with his hand. Recalling the things he had encountered when Spiritual Zombies evolved at different levels, he was certain—this was a Spiritual Zombie.
"It’s too dark in here, come outside."
He dragged the sticky tentacle, pulling the Spiritual Zombie outside with overwhelming force.
Sunlight enveloped the area.
He finally got a clear look at the zombie in front of him.
The Spiritual Zombie in front of him was shocking, with a bloated mass of flesh for a lower body, and flesh shifting around. The upper body resembled a normal zombie, but its arms bore long, sharp nails that seemed capable of ripping its prey into shreds with a gentle wave.
Many blood-red tentacles flailed wildly behind it.
"Definitely a Spiritual Zombie, but of an entirely different level."
Without thinking, Lin Fan started snapping photos with his camera.
Even the Spiritual Zombie seemed bewildered by the situation—do humans these days not recognize audacity? Isn’t it natural to show fear when faced with this form?
Yet, here he was, snapping pictures and even choosing angles.
The Spiritual Zombie roared furiously, its voice piercing and ear-splitting.
"The sound rivals that of a Screaming Zombie, posing a real threat to human eardrums."
Lin Fan observed the abilities of the Spiritual Zombie.
Now, he was like an experienced zombie scholar, recording the habits and varieties of zombies to contribute to humanity.
"Hello, any abilities you have, feel free to use them, no need to hold back," Lin Fan said.
As soon as he finished speaking.
Blood-colored tentacles crackled towards him.
Lin Fan swung his Light Saber, severing all the blood-colored tentacles.
"Spiritual Zombies always have this move; no need to use it. Got anything else?"
If not, that would be a real pity.
The danger of Spiritual Zombies lies in their ability to produce Monitoring Zombies, finding shelters’ locations for devastating strikes.
The danger is substantial, but their individual strength cannot compare to hybrid zombies.
The Spiritual Zombie roared.
Lin Fan quietly awaited, hoping the Spiritual Zombie before him would display some impressive abilities.
He noticed something was happening with the Spiritual Zombie; its bloated lower body burst open, oozing thick fluid down its surface. It was somewhat disgusting.
"What’s it going to do?"
He finally realized the Spiritual Zombie was releasing its legs from the bloated mass, becoming a mobile zombie. Quickly, the mass split open, revealing its legs.
The legs were thin, coated in fluid, and seemed underdeveloped.
The Spiritual Zombie, having freed itself from the bloated mass, roared and rushed toward Lin Fan at an incredible speed, leaving a blur of motion, its sharp, long claws swiping at Lin Fan.
The Spiritual Zombie appeared behind Lin Fan, maintaining its clawing posture.
The claws of the Spiritual Zombie shattered.
Lin Fan touched his neck.
The claws of the Spiritual Zombie had grazed his neck.
The sharpness was too low.
"Close combat abilities have greatly improved, but I wonder if it has any Spiritual Attacks?"
Indeed, the stranger a zombie’s appearance, the stronger its abilities seem to be.
Lin Fan turned and asked.
The Spiritual Zombie roared, its mouth opening like petals, each lip teeming with tiny, sharp teeth. As it roared, a powerful spiritual assault burst forth.
The surrounding rubble vibrated, seemingly controlled, rushing towards Lin Fan’s body.
Lin Fan stepped aside, easily dodging.
"Spirit abilities... If there’s nothing else, then it’s just an improved close combat ability compared to other Spiritual Zombies."
He noticed some high-stage zombies seemed to constantly refine their flaws.
Like mature hybrid zombies evolving bug-like regeneration abilities.
This zombie had no other abilities left.
Lin Fan took a step forward, wielding his Light Saber, and the sharp Sword Radiance swept across, severing the Spiritual Zombie in half. Thick fluids and organs splattered everywhere.
"[Killed a Mature Spiritual Zombie]"
Lin Fan opened the head, and a pale golden crystal appeared in his field of vision.
