Mao Ping was introducing the eleven Awakeners in the base to Lin Fan.
Lin Fan nodded at them.
He hadn’t expected there to be eleven Awakeners here, even more than in their Sunshine Shelter.
And he noticed that several of them were quite formidable, though the majority of their abilities seemed to be strength-based Awakeners—which was good, as strength-related abilities belonged to close combat, which could better deal with zombies.
Lin Fan was very curious. He was still wondering how the Zombie Album had made it here. Could it be that a survivor from Huang City had left and come to Xiangshan Base?
Indeed, it was just as he had thought.
He looked at Zhou Zhou in front of him; it was this youth who had brought the Zombie Album here.
"When did your base start to form?" Lin Fan asked curiously.
Mao Ping replied, "At the very beginning of the apocalypse, my daughter and I were already here. Then survivors from the surrounding areas started arriving, and we let them in. Tan Qing mulled it over; she could confirm that the strength enhancement came from the crystals, but the mention of it being ’a bit special’ could mean there’s some unique situation. This was quite normal; after the emergence of Awakened abilities, some things could no longer be approached with simple thinking.
The other Awakeners also had questions.
"Mr. Lin, how many types of Awakener abilities are there?"
Lin Fan shook his head, "I’m not too sure. The abilities recorded in the Zombie Album are the ones I’ve encountered, but there are many I haven’t come across, such as your ability—your saliva and blood have corrosive properties."
The Awakener with corrosive abilities was quite troubled, even feeling like crying. His ability was quite useless; he couldn’t do anything substantial and could only watch helplessly.
For instance, during the recent zombie horde siege, he was stirring the zombies with an iron rod while spitting, trying to corrode the zombies’ heads, but to little effect.
Worse yet, he had to remain a bachelor for life.
Kissing was out of the question.
And sex was even more impossible.
If he wanted to see a girl turned to bones, maybe he could give it a try.
Another Awakener asked,
"Mr. Lin, the zombies evolve so quickly, how do we deal with the hybrid zombies you mentioned if we encounter them?"
"Read the content I’ve written carefully. Some zombies are beyond your ability to handle; don’t force it. If you can avoid them, do so. If you get the chance, notify me, and I’ll take care of it for you."
Faced with these questions from the Awakeners, Lin Fan explained at a leisurely pace.

The group of Awakeners, listening to Lin Fan’s words, all nodded silently; it seemed they needed to take a serious look at the Zombie Album, memorize the content, and remember the appearance of the zombies.
Zhou Zhou looked at Lin Fan the whole time, his eyes gleaming with adoration.

Mao Jingjing walked toward the entrance and took over a bag from a survivor, bringing it over to Lin Fan.
"This is the crystal from the Evolutionary Zombie that was outside just now. I had someone collect it for you," she said.
Seeing a full bag of crystals, no one could pretend they didn’t want it. Crystals were valuable commodities, the most important items for Awakeners.
Did Mao Jingjing want these crystals?
So many crystals could be used to enhance the powers of Awakeners, which would offer absolute improvement in the safety of Xiangshan, providing a greater guarantee. It was just that these zombies were hunted by someone else.
