Old Zhong could see what Lin Fan was thinking.
"Lin Fan, dealing with zombie corpses is indeed a troublesome task, but I think when everyone starts to join in the cleanup, everything will go smoothly."
Lin Fan smiled, "I hope so, Old Zhong, Come on, let’s go to the store and pick out some clothes for the kids."
"Sure, no problem," Old Zhong said with a smile.
The children’s clothes were easy to choose, and this store was slightly larger, selling not just children’s clothing but adults’ clothing as well.
Old Zhong stood in front of a woman’s dress, removed his steel gloves, and touched it, feeling the texture of the fabric.
He thought Xu Ying would look good in it.
Holding some clothes, Lin Fan came over to Old Zhong and said, "This dress looks nice; Xu Ying will definitely like it."
Guan Hao really had a big mouth.
"Don’t be embarrassed, we all know what there is to know, rest assured, no one will say anything," Lin Fan said with a smile.
Old Zhong chuckled, scratching his head, not giving it too much thought as he collected the clothes.
Later, they went to buy some food at a store, and to Lin Fan’s surprise, many of the stores had been cleared out, with only some unimportant supplies remaining.
He had been here a while ago, and there had been plenty of things in the shops; how had they been cleared out in such a short time?
Could it be He Mingxuan?
He thought of He Mingxuan, who also lived in the city; perhaps he was the one who did it.
"Xu Ming, do you think the zombies that were chasing us just now are really something we can handle?"
The two survivors in the back of the car kept looking at the road behind them.
Earlier, a group of zombies had been chasing them, among them was a particularly terrifying, burly zombie. Thankfully, it wasn’t very fast, otherwise it would have been questionable whether they could have escaped at all.
"Powerful Zombie, with a crystal in its head."
Xu Ming gripped the steering wheel tightly to prevent any bumps that might cause the car to become unstable and crash into something.
The two survivors were chilled to the bone; they felt that such a zombie could easily crush their skulls with a single punch.
Xu Ming was confident, "The zombies you are afraid of can be easily eliminated by someone at Sunshine Shelter in Huang City."
The two survivors exchanged looks, knowing that Xu Ming had placed all his hopes there; if Sunshine Shelter was not as expected, Xu Ming would probably completely collapse and despair.
As they were talking.
A sedan was thrown by some creature, aiming to smash their car. Xu Ming quickly turned the wheel in response, and with a bang, the front of the car hit the guardrail at the roadside.
Then there was another dull sound.
Another sedan broke through the barrier in front of them, rolled over, and went outside. If their reactions hadn’t been quick enough, that car would have crashed right on top of theirs.
"Xu Ming, there are zombies!"
The two survivors in the back, their heads spinning, realized there was trouble and, enduring the pain, checked their surroundings. They immediately saw a zombie as bulky as the one before.
Why did they always have to encounter this type of zombie?
Xu Ming was very anxious, thinking of reversing and stepping on the gas to quickly get away, but no matter how he operated it, the sedan didn’t respond at all.
The two survivors felt doomed, "It’s over, we’re completely done for. We didn’t even make it there and we’re about to be killed by a zombie on the road, so frustrating."
Xu Ming was breathing rapidly, clearly very panicked inside, yet he tried to remain composed.
Abandoning the car and running was not realistic.
There were zombies around, and they couldn’t possibly outrun them.
Staying in the car, trying to start it again, if they could succeed, there might still be a glimmer of hope.
Zhou Peng looked expressionlessly into the distance, having directed the Powerful Zombie to find Awakeners for the Corpse God. He was really serious and unwilling to miss any opportunity.
The powers of the Corpse God were terrifying; with a face like the undead, it could sense zombies and, simply put, see through the eyes of other zombies in places it was not present.
"I hope they are Awakeners, if not... that would be a real pity."
Soon, he noticed that the survivors in the car weren’t coming out to hunt the zombies, which likely meant that the survivors inside were not Awakeners.
The pretense of fake concern made him feel sick, but for the sake of increasing the population of the shelter, he probably couldn’t just sit back and do nothing.
Just as Zhou Peng was preparing to descend like a deity from the heavens.
The situation at the scene changed.
Another car appeared out of nowhere.
A survivor got out, clad in War Armor, wielding a steel spear, and in the eyes of Zhou Peng, the survivor managed to shoot a zombie in the head with a single shot.
