I hacked through the chaotic world with my blade Chapter 717

"Directly blow your head off with a shot."

"Some say, with the strength of twenty years in my fist, can you withstand it?"

He wanted to add, "I’ve just learned to use firearms, what will you block with?"

Just at that moment, Sun Neng, lying on the ground, suddenly opened his eyes, flipped over like a carp turning, and sprang to his feet with quick and decisive movements. He grabbed Wang Han’s head with both hands and with a snap, twisted it directly.

Then he snatched the gun from his hand and aimed at the bewildered survivors.

He fired several shots in succession until there were no bullets left in the gun when only Zhang Yuan remained.

He walked step by step towards Zhang Yuan.

Zhang Yuan, her face pale, retreated backward, "No...no, how could you be alright?"

Sun Neng cornered Zhang Yuan against the wall and launched a punch at her face. With a thud, her head collided violently with the wall, and the back of her skull cracked open. This powerful force was definitely not something Sun Neng’s thin frame could produce.

Struck by such a blow, Zhang Yuan’s limbs dangled as she slid down weakly and collapsed on the ground.

Sun Neng showed her no mercy. Then he looked down at the gunshot wound in his chest, frowning as the pain made sweat appear on his forehead. He then inserted two fingers into the wound, the intense pain sweeping through his brain, and finally, he pulled the bullet out of his chest.

As he removed the bullet, his wound visibly healed at a rapid pace.

If any other survivor had seen this scene,

they would have cried out in shock.

You’re a fucking freak.

Disguise ability, strength ability, and even self-healing ability – but whether this was actually self-healing or perhaps the rebirth of severed limbs was uncertain.

The survivors locked in the cells were stunned.

Even those who had given up all hope had their eyes wide open, staring as if they’d seen a ghost.

Li Yao had never imagined someone could be so abnormal.

He had personally seen the other person get shot, yet not only was he unharmed, he even seemed as vigorous as a dragon or tiger, not at all like someone who had been shot.

"Did you know all along that there was something wrong with them?"

Li Yao stammered the question.

Sun Neng walked up to the iron bars, grabbed the lock and pulled it outward, smiling, "Maybe so."

Everyone locked up was released.

There was no one from Wang Han’s group outside. It seemed that Wang Han knew Sun Neng was an Awakener and, not daring to be careless, had brought everyone along, even with guns, just to deal with Sun Neng in the safest way possible.

They left the cells, but as they did, everyone looked at the people lying on the ground.

Especially Zhang Yuan, who looked the most tragic with her face caved in and thick blood flowing from the back of her head.

Killed with a single punch.

Watching everyone devouring their food, Sun Neng shook his head; having a full meal in the apocalypse was really a luxury for some survivors.

Sun Neng looked at the chef and nodded at him.

He didn’t say thank you.

But the nod was clear—it was a thank-you for the reminder.

The chef looked at Sun Neng with the same gratitude. He had not expected that Sun Neng would really take care of Wang Han, setting them all free.

Now on the table lay the "Zombie Album" and a satellite phone, which had been smashed and broken.

Sun Neng said, "Your decision to head to the Sunshine Shelter in Huang City is the correct one. For people like you who want to live peacefully, that is indeed the place you should go."

He never spoke ill of the Sunshine Shelter in public.

For those truly seeking a stable life, the direction he pointed them toward was always there.

"Have you ever been there yourself?" Li Yao asked.

Sun Neng said, "Whether I’ve been there or not is not important to you. The details are all written here. No matter where you are, as long as you make the call, they will come to pick you up. The problem is the satellite phone is broken. Does anyone here know how to repair it?"

As he spoke, his gaze swept across the crowd.

They looked at each other—some shaking their heads, some sighing—not a single one knew how to repair it.

Li Yao regretfully said, "It seems that the place we were meant to reach is still beyond our reach."

For them, this was truly an unexpected situation.

It was right in front of them, yet they were always hindered, as if the heavens did not want them to arrive there. Were they destined to suffer in this dreadful apocalypse indefinitely?

"Looks like no one knows how," Sun Neng picked up the satellite phone. "When I was young and rebellious and didn’t like studying, my mom got so frustrated she sent me to my cousin’s shop to learn how to repair cell phones. After a year, seeing no future in it, I went back to school. Of course, during that year, I became quite skilled at fixing phones."

He spoke in the calmest tone, yet his words sent shock waves through the audience.

Every sentence he said was exhilarating for the people present.

"I remember there are tools in the prison. Just find those for me," Sun Neng instructed.

Li Yao said, "Thank you. There are still good people in this post-apocalyptic world."

Hearing these words, Sun Neng laughed. It was not the joy of being praised; rather, it was an indescribable feeling—perhaps self-mockery or maybe a genuine sense of recognition for being seen as a good person.

He always wondered about himself. Am I bad?

I just have a bit of a strange temper, a strong possessive and controlling desire over things I like. If that’s the standard for being a bad person, then maybe I am one.

Under the dark night sky, the distant hum of a generator could be heard.

Sun Neng was hunched over, repairing the satellite phone. Various parts were scattered on the table, and he worked calmly, step by step.

The slight figure of Sun Neng exuded a serene tranquility as he worked.

Daybreak arrived, and the rising sun dispelled the gloom, covering the land.

Outside the prison, a car carrying a man and a dog left quietly.

The screen of a satellite phone was lit up, displaying "Call ended, duration thirty seconds."

Li Yao came rushing in upon waking.

Not seeing anyone, he grew anxious.

But then he saw the phone on the table, as well as a note beneath it.

[The call has been made. Just wait. I hope you find your happiness.]

Li Yao held the note, spellbound by the single sentence that had him utterly captivated.

"He just left like that?"

"We haven’t even had the chance to offer our sincere thanks."

Tears streamed down Li Yao’s face.

Whether it was gratitude toward Sun Neng

or excitement for the secure life that was on the horizon.
