Having said that, Lin Fan took out a satellite phone and dialed Officer Huang, who was at an unknown location.
The crowd watched Lin Fan’s actions in silence.
Some even thought to themselves... who the hell was it that, instead of being an honest person, chose to play the lackey? Isn’t freedom good? Why go to the trouble of provoking this guy?

Lin Fan had already connected with Officer Huang.
"Hello, Officer Huang, how are you?"
The conversation began with a startling dialogue.
Wasn’t Officer Huang a zombie? How could he talk? Even if it was described in the atlas that Officer Huang was rational, it seemed he couldn’t speak, right?
"Oh, very good. I’ve got a matter to ask you about. I’ve come across a group of survivors outside, many of them Awakeners, but they’ve done some not very friendly things. I wanted to check with you, if I bring them back to Huang City, that’s okay, right?"
"Alright, I understand. No problem then."
"Thanks, Officer Huang. Take care of yourself, and remember to call me if you run into any trouble."
He hung up the phone.
Lin Fan looked at everyone present, "Sorry for the intrusion, I’ve just spoken with Officer Huang on the phone and have been authorized to exercise the right to maintain public order by bringing you back to Huang City."
With the number of people too many, saying more was a bit inconvenient for communication, taking them back directly was the right course of action.
"I’m leaving. I have my freedom."
The previously mentioned survivor wanting to leave sensed that the situation was not right. If they really returned to Huang City with him, their freedom would be gone.
So no matter what, he thought of leaving.
Just as he was about to reach the door, a swift, invisible Sword Radiance soared through the air, slicing a long mark across the metal floor, startling the would-be escapee into a dumbfounded standstill. He was completely taken aback.
Lin Fan’s expression became serious. He could tell that these survivors had been through the ringer in this apocalypse, and even their methods were quite harsh.
If he greeted them politely, it was very likely they would perceive him as a pushover.
This reminded him of a time at work.
There was an employee at the company who was always polite and kind to everyone. Once, the boss Jiang Zhongming deliberately docked his pay. Who would have expected the employee to burst into the office, fiercely slam his hands on the desk, and glare at the boss.
"Give me my salary, not a cent less, otherwise, it’s either you die here or I die here."
The usually domineering boss was actually intimidated.
He incredulously handed over the salary and even complained, "Is it necessary to go this far over a few thousand yuan’s salary?"
In light of this, Lin Fan knew that in certain situations, you had to show a tougher side to really intimidate others.
The survivor looked at the mark before him, his eyes wide as if seeing a ghost, and his heart pounding.
The survivor, initially determined to leave, obediently turned around and went back to his seat.

How he wished someone would take the initiative to confront Lin Fan domineeringly, triggering a fierce conflict that would change the pace of the scene. For freedom, to do as we please, we have to fight him.

Lin Fan noticed a woman with a vacant stare at the vendor’s stall, standing by the railing. Her appearance was heart-wrenching; she must have gone through so much to look .
He stood up and walked toward the woman. As he approached, she took a slight step back as if it were a reflex.
"Hello, I’m Lin Fan from the Sunshine Shelter in Huang City. I’ve always wanted to provide survivors with a place to live like they used to, so don’t be afraid. I mean you no harm. Can you tell me if everything you’re doing now is voluntary?"
Lin Fan’s voice was as gentle as could be, without even a hint of assertiveness, afraid of startling her.
Meanwhile, he noticed the bruises on her exposed arm, some blue, some purple.
The vendor beside her, bending over, servilely said, "She’s here voluntarily, voluntarily."
"Shut your mouth," Lin Fan said, his gaze sharp as he stared the vendor down.
His usual kindness and friendliness did not mean he couldn’t be serious.
The vendor dared not meet Lin Fan’s gaze, shrinking back, not daring to utter a word.
Lin Fan quietly waited for her answer.
The woman looked at Lin Fan, her vacant eyes attempting to focus, as if a glimmer of light was struggling to break through the darkness.
