The morning sun was cascading brightly through the window when Yu Chen opened his eyes. The first thing he did was look for Xiaolei. When he saw she wasn't in the room anymore, he creased his brows and stood up. He went directly to the bathroom and after washing his face, he began to remember the scene before he passed out. Xiaolei's voice saying that they were already married echoed in his ears and the image of their marriage certificate flashed like a slideshow in his head.
His eyes widened and in a flash, he dashed out of their room, but he couldn't find her. She wasn't in the kitchen either.
Yu Chen then stepped out of the house. He saw Yang Jin and Gu Wei looking at a cellphone as they stood beside the bushes. They seemed busy watching something funny since Gu Wei was grinning like a cat.
\"How the hell did you even capture these?\" Yu Chen heard Yang Jin ask as he approached them.
\"Haha, easy Yang Jin… drones. This great historian will use any resource he has –\" Gu Wei replied but he immediately shut his mouth and even hid his phone the moment he realized that the big boss was already before them.
\"Good morning, boss!\" he immediately greeted Yu Chen.
\"Where's Xiaolei?\" he asked, looking very impatient.
\"Miss Luo just left. She was waiting for you to wake up but there was an emergency meeting regarding the project she is working on. But don't worry boss, she said she will come back as soon as it's done. Ah… she told me to call her once you were awake.\" Gu Wei was about to call Xiaolei when Yu Chen suddenly pulled Yang Jin's collar.
\"Yang Jin, answer me… what happened while I was unconscious? You guys didn't tell me anything… did we… did she really marry me?\"
Yang Jin and Gu Wei froze in surprise with what Yu Chen had asked. They both stared at their boss and they could see the questions and disbelief in his eyes.
\"We didn't tell you because we thought that she should be the one to tell you about it.\" Yang Jin replied. \"And didn't she show you your marriage certificate?\"
Yu Chen slowly let go of Yang Jin's collar. \"So it's not a dream.\" He mumbled, shaking his head. And then, he crouched down on the ground as he ran his fingers through his hair.
Yang Jin was confused by his reaction. Why was he acting like this was so damn hard for him to believe?
\"Why… how did this happen?\" he asked himself, causing Yang Jin to frown hard.
\"Yu Chen, what are you saying? You're the one who made your marriage possible. You left an already signed marriage certificate with attorney Yang, instructing him to show it to her if something happens to you.\"
Upon hearing what Yang Jin said, Yu Chen froze. His hands were still on his hair and his eyes were focused on the ground. His reaction was definitely unexpected. Yang Jin was puzzled because this was far from the reaction he was expecting from him. What was wrong? Was there some mistake?
Yang Jin and Gu Wei looked at each other. They were both confused. Yu Chen didn't say anything and just sat there.
After a long while, Yang Jin broke the silence. \"Yu Chen, is there something wrong?\" he asked and finally, Yu Chen moved.
He slowly stood up. His emotions were already under control when he turned toward them. \"Nothing.\" Was all he replied and he walked away.
Yang Jin and Gu wei's face were inexplicable as they watched the man's back. What the hell's going on with him?! There's definitely something wrong!!
Gu Wei was about to whisper in Yang Jin's ear when Yu Chen suddenly paused in his tracks and spoke. \"Yang Jin, have the therapists come now. After the therapy, I'm going to the company.\"

Meanwhile, at Yu Empire's headquarters,
Inside the CEO's office, Xiaolei, Chairman Yu and a foreigner CEO and his assistant were sitting around a table. They were very serious as they talked. One look and one would immediately realize that their topic was about something huge.
\"CEO Luo, Chairman Yu, please understand my point. I am not belittling Miss Luo at all. I know her potential. I am fully aware that she is a genius and is such an intelligent lady. But this project is massive. Miss Luo is extraordinary but she is too young. She's only twenty-three and has stepped in as a CEO for just three months. As I've said, this is not about her skill. I'm sure you both understand what I mean.\" The foreigner explained.
\"Mr. Ville, please state what you want to happen.\" Xiaolei bravely said and the man smiled.
\"Honestly, this is why I trusted you, Miss Luo. You never act like your age. But still, sadly, I couldn't persuade the directors that you were capable enough. They wanted me to work with someone older with more experience. You know how the oldies think, they don't have much trust in someone as young and new like you. So I decided to have another CEO join us in this project. Please don't worry. Nothing will change with the deal between us.\"
\"Did you already choose who will be joining us?\"
\"Yes, he's still young actually but he has years of experience and he's amazingly competent. Surprisingly, he is as low key as you. I am confident that he is the perfect one. I'd like you to meet him so we can discuss the changes about the plan before I return to Europe.\"
\"He came here with you?\"
\"Yes, I left him in the lobby. He's surprisingly undemanding. You both are so much alike.\"
\"Oh, that good to hear, Mr. Ville. I hope we'll get along well.\"
\"I'm sure of it.\"
At that moment, Xiaolei's secretary entered the room and told her that another CEO was waiting for her. \"Let him in,\" Xiaolei said and the secretary nodded.
After a while, the door opened again. They all turned and looked at the newcomer who was to be Xiaolei's new business partner.
Everyone stood upon seeing him, except Xiaolei. She froze in her seat upon seeing the man who just entered. Her eyes widened as her pulse began thudding uncontrollably, as if she was seeing a ghost.
