Martin’s hands kept rubbing together anxiously. He said urgently, "The other side is doing things impeccably, even with my father’s connections, there’s still no lead."

After a long time, he suddenly realized, "You’re right, since we can’t find them now, we should wait for them to come to us."

Landon had a clear view; those people would never give up on the deal, having planned for it over eight years.
"They too are unsure," Landon said suddenly.
Martin was taken aback and asked puzzledly, "Why do you think they aren’t prepared?"
Landon’s eyes slowly narrowed, with a hint of a teasing smile at the corner of his mouth, "If they were truly prepared, why would we be involved?"
"Waiting for eight years and still no action, I suspect they lack certainty. Your and my presence have disrupted their plans." Hearing Landon’s calm and powerful explanation, Martin seriously considered it and found Landon’s reasoning quite sound.
If they had planned it eight years ago, why hesitate to act? Martin couldn’t buy any excuses they might offer.
His gaze towards Landon grew more admiring, finally understanding why his father encouraged him to learn from Landon.
At least in tough times, his calmness couldn’t match Landon’s, a trait he’d been striving to emulate.
"Since it’s settled, go ahead and execute. Don’t give away anything, continue as before."
"Rest assured, for acting, no one does it better than me."
Martin finally regained his confidence, realizing he had some use here; otherwise, his father would have reprimanded him long ago.
Landon was aware of Martin’s thoughts, even though Martin was sometimes playful and irresponsible, he never took serious matters lightly.
"Do what you see fit." With that, Landon turned and left the conference room, leaving Martin behind.
Seeing Landon leave, Martin hurriedly caught up, "Landon, can you not be so heartless? Every time after a meeting, you ditch me. How about we have lunch together? It’s almost noon."
Landon walked silently without responding to Martin’s words, clearly not wanting to join him for a meal. Martin’s frequent visits had seriously disrupted his dining habits with Sienna Quinn.
This irritation was something Landon couldn’t tolerate. But Martin seemed oblivious or simply chose to stick to him undeterred.
The sound of the door opening. Sienna turned to see Landon and Martin entering. She spoke slowly.

Martin chuckled knowingly, "In that case, I won’t intrude on your time together. Looks like I’ll be eating alone."

I walked over, seated in the chair opposite, looking intently into his eyes, and seriously said, "I want to ask about Axel Yates."
At the mention of Axel, the man’s eyes lit up, "Why bring him up suddenly? If you’re trying to persuade me against acting against him, rest assured, if I wanted to, he wouldn’t be around now."
Sienna believed him; when the kidnapping incident arose and concluded, Landon hadn’t mentioned it to anyone, not even Axel, without probing further. Otherwise, Axel would have been taken when he returned to the company.
"Axel Yates is back."
Seeing his composed demeanor, Sienna should’ve known Landon would be informed promptly of any developments, as he was always thorough.
"Why don’t you make him pay? This isn’t your usual conduct. Spare me the talk about kindness or repaying grievances with virtue. So what’s really going on?"
