Sienna Quinn smiled and ruffled Evan Quinn’s head, "You don’t need to worry about Mom. Just take care of yourself at kindergarten and try to keep a low profile, that’ll make Mom very happy."
It was a rare moment for Sienna to spend time with Evan, and after a meal, she asked him, "Is there anywhere Chloe really wants to go? Mommy will accompany you today."
Evan, clutching his napkin, solemnly wiped the corners of his mouth and then his hands, saying in a childish voice, "Though I hope you can go home and rest early, Mommy, if Mrs. Carter isn’t busy, the three of us could go shopping at the supermarket. It’s about time to restock the fridge."
Sienna felt embarrassed. She’s often busy with work, only remembering to order things online when they come to mind, and the fridge was indeed quite empty.
"Then let’s go to the supermarket to restock," Sienna said, ruffling Evan’s hair again, smiling as she stood up.
"I’m sorry, President Quinn, this should have been my responsibility. It was my oversight. I’ll handle these things promptly in the future," Danielle followed the mother and son, apologizing.
"It’s no problem, we’re all new to working together. There’s always a period of adjustment," Sienna smiled, not concerned.
Danielle stuck out her tongue playfully, smiling in relief, "I didn’t expect you to be so laid-back, President Quinn."
"Didn’t expect it? So, you all had preconceived notions about me before I returned to the country?" Sienna laughed upon getting into the car.
"Ah..." Danielle realized she misspoke and awkwardly added, "That’s not what I meant, it’s just that everyone assumed that someone as outstanding and capable as you would be extremely picky about life’s details, so maybe... not very easy to serve."
"My mommy does have high standards, but it depends on the matter. And she always says, ’Be strict with yourself and lenient with others.’ So you’ve misunderstood my mommy," Evan interjected before Sienna could speak.
Sienna smiled and said, "You remember everything your mommy teaches you."
"Of course," Evan puffed out his little mouth proudly.
"I feel lucky to learn so much from President Quinn, not just work skills but also life lessons. It’s very admirable," Danielle said sincerely.
They arrived at the supermarket.
Evan acted like a little master, taking whatever he could reach himself, and asked Danielle for help when he couldn’t reach something.
Sienna pushed the shopping cart alongside, just like Danielle, now helpers to Evan.
"Mommy, they say that certain foods can help heal their respective body parts. I think you should drink more bone broth for your wrist injury, although you’re hurt and may not be able to make the soup, and I’m afraid I won’t do it well," Evan said, his gaze fixed on Danielle.
Danielle was momentarily stunned. "Ah... but I don’t know how to make soup either."
Upon hearing this, Evan pouted and lowered his eyes in disappointment.
Danielle quickly changed her tune, "But I can learn! As long as President Quinn and Chloe don’t mind my cooking skills."
Evan nodded in satisfaction, "I believe Danielle will do a great job. Go for it~"
Danielle smiled awkwardly, feeling as though Evan was leading her around by the nose, inadvertently falling into his little trap, yet completely willing.
After dropping them off at home and making the soup, Danielle finally headed home, her cooking skills proving quite questionable, and Sienna decided she would handle the cooking herself in the future.
Danielle felt embarrassed, having lost face in front of a little kid.
Evan noticed Danielle’s face full of embarrassment, waddling his chubby little body, "Danielle, I have something I want to tell you."
Danielle was taken aback, even Sienna was puzzled, as Danielle bent down and Evan cupped her face with his little hands, giving a gentle peck, "Thank you, Danielle!"
The sweet smile warmed Danielle’s heart, her face flushed from the innocent gesture.
Sienna watched them with a smile, feeling exasperated, wondering how her darling son turned out this way... his flirting skills surpassed Landon Lawson’s by a long shot—could it be because of her?
But she’s practically clueless in romance; otherwise, she wouldn’t have been tricked by Landon Lawson and lost her heart.
As Danielle was leaving, she informed Sienna she’d be picking them up at seven in the morning until Sienna’s arm healed.
At bedtime, Lana and Chloe lay side by side, snuggling the chubby little body in their embrace. Suddenly, a thought flashed, and she lifted Evan’s round little face, smiling and stating, "By the way, if strangers approach you these days, don’t run off, okay? If Mommy’s busy, let Danielle pick you up, but don’t go with strangers."
Sienna looked seriously at Evan, her stern gaze making his tiny heart jump, though he feigned curiosity like a curious child.
"Why? Is someone going to come looking for me?"
"No, of course not. I’m just worried that since you’re such a pretty little flower, you might get abducted by traffickers who’d sell you off to a remote place as someone else’s child."
Sienna burst out laughing, only to receive a playful eye roll from Evan.
She wouldn’t tell him that Vera Yates overheard her on the phone today. That woman can do anything, and if she finds out she and Landon have a son, there’s no telling what she might do.
Sienna didn’t want to take the risk or gamble; losing that bet would have consequences she couldn’t bear.
After lulling Evan to sleep, listening to his steady breathing, she tucked him in before returning to the study. Tonight, Dominic Lowell and the others would upload their reports.
Just as Sienna left, Evan, who was supposed to be asleep, turned over, his bright eyes squinting like a line, searching for Sienna’s presence in the room. After a long confirmation, he opened his eyes and let out a breath of relief.

However, accustomed to Sienna’s natural beauty, Vera Yates paled in comparison, seeming rather ordinary.
