Just as Melanie Sinclair was lost in her triumphant fantasy, the spark of anger that had ignited in Claire Sinclair’s heart was quickly extinguished.

Melanie Sinclair was exasperated. "Aren’t you curious whose child I’m carrying?"
Claire Sinclair glanced back, giving her a look one might give an idiot.
"I’m more curious how you plan to raise a child all by yourself. If I were you, I’d get an abortion on the quiet, keep my head down, and start over. At least then I wouldn’t be too ashamed to show my face in public."
"W-what do you mean?"
The moment the words left her mouth, the meaning dawned on Melanie Sinclair. She was so furious she wanted to lash out.
’That damn bitch! She was basically calling me worse than an animal and cursing me to raise this child alone. How vile!’
Claire Sinclair smirked. "Didn’t your mother ever teach you that getting pregnant before you’re married is just plain foolish?"
Melanie Sinclair was done beating around the bush. She sneered, "Let me tell you, dear sister. The man who was so ’foolish’ with me is your boyfriend. My Brother Linden."
"Heh..." Claire Sinclair chuckled, then very calmly offered a "blessing." "Well then, a bitch and a dog—may you last for an eternity."
And with that, she walked away.
This wasn’t how things were supposed to go. Melanie Sinclair was so angry she stomped her foot.
’What was going on? Why wasn’t that bitch reacting at all???’
’Shouldn’t that damn bitch be furious and heartbroken that I stole her boyfriend? I even told her I’m carrying Brother Linden’s child!’

The plenary session on the upcoming general election was drawing to a close. Presiding over the meeting was the incumbent, soon-to-retire President, Arthur Lockwood.
Arthur Lockwood delivered his concluding remarks, and the conference room filled with enthusiastic applause.
In the front row, Adrian Quincy sat with his legs crossed, his gaze fixed on his mentor on the dais. Amidst his solemn and dignified expression, a hint of respect could be seen.
As Arthur Lockwood stepped down from the dais, Adrian Quincy rose gracefully, preparing to depart.
As he exited the conference room, Aiden Howkins met him and escorted him out of the Cabinet building.
Once in the car, Aiden Howkins reported as he drove:
"Young Master Quincy, we just received a call from the Manor. Someone tried to secretly slip the gate guard a carton of cigarettes, claiming to be an acquaintance of yours. We’re holding him now. We’ve confirmed his identity; he’s Quinn Sinclair’s father, Peter Sinclair."
Adrian Quincy’s cold eyes narrowed. "What does he want?" he asked in a low voice.
"He wouldn’t say. He insists on speaking with you in person."
"Let him go. Return the cigarettes. And from now on, bar people like him from the Manor."
Aiden Howkins nodded and said no more.
