I Married the President Chapter 54

Chapter 54: Chapter 54: Dog Abuse

Aiden Howkins, who was standing to the side, couldn’t help but chuckle.

’So Young Master Quincy has a childish side to him. You live and you learn.’

Claire Sinclair finished peeling the egg, scooped out the yolk to eat, and placed the remaining white into a certain someone’s bowl.

"To be fair, I’ll eat the yolk, and you eat the white."

Adrian Quincy glanced at his bowl but didn’t move.

Claire Sinclair raised an eyebrow. "What, do you want me to feed you?"

"You could try."

"Shameless! Who wants to feed you?!"

The man’s expression turned serious. "If you don’t finish all of this, don’t even think about leaving Quincy Manor today."

Claire Sinclair looked up and glared at him. ’This guy has being a scoundrel down to an art. I surrender.’

She picked up the chopsticks he had used, lifted the egg white, and brought it to his lips.

The man froze, clearly not expecting her to take his joke seriously. As if by some strange impulse, he opened his mouth, and the girl playfully stuffed the egg white inside.

Adrian Quincy shot her a glance and ate the egg white with calm composure.

Witnessing this flagrant PDA, Aiden Howkins felt like he’d taken a critical hit of ten thousand damage.

’Young Master Quincy, have some consideration for the feelings of us single folk...’

The pleasant breakfast finally came to an end.

Claire Sinclair took out her phone to check the time. It was 9:30. Just as she was about to leave, she noticed a new text message:

"Miss Sinclair, hello. We have received your resume. After a preliminary review, we believe you are an excellent fit for our reporter position. Please come to our office for an interview tomorrow at 10 AM. Location: ****."

Claire Sinclair read the entire message carefully, then checked the phone number, confirming it was indeed the one Astoria Daily had listed on the recruitment site.

’Is this for real?’

When she first submitted her resume, she had only done it on a whim. After all, she didn’t actually meet the hiring requirements; she had no work experience.

’I should probably call and confirm...’

Claire Sinclair called the number back. As soon as the call connected, she asked, "Hello, this is Claire Sinclair. I received a text message from your newspaper about an interview. Is this real?"

"Yes, Miss Sinclair. Please remember to come for your interview tomorrow at 10 AM."

"Okay, okay! I’ll definitely be there on time. I won’t disturb your work any further. Goodbye!"

After hanging up, Claire Sinclair was suddenly so ecstatic she could have squealed.

Hahaha...

Astoria Daily—the nation’s number one mainstream media giant, the only outlet that wasn’t afraid of the powerful and dared to speak the truth, an embodiment of justice and integrity. It was the place Claire Sinclair had always dreamed of working.

The reason Claire Sinclair had changed jobs so frequently over the past year was her constant dissatisfaction with the status quo, especially her intolerance for workplace backstabbing and office politics.

This time it was Astoria Daily. It wouldn’t disappoint her again, would it?

Claire Sinclair was lost in thought, a huge smile on her face. Completely immersed in her own world, she was oblivious to the man who had been staring at her the whole time.

Adrian Quincy suddenly spoke up. "An interview call from where?"

"Astoria Daily! I’m sure I won’t get in, but I have to give it a try." Claire Sinclair excitedly shared her good news, not noticing the subtle change in the way the man was looking at her.

Amidst his usual coldness, a trace of joy, sparked by her own, flickered in his eyes.

The man raised his hand and placed it on top of her head. In a level tone, he said, "Don’t say such discouraging things before you’ve even gone. It’s bad for morale."

Claire Sinclair wriggled her head out from under his hand and said irritably, "Don’t pat my head!"

’Besides, it’s not like I’m going off to war. What do I need morale for?!’

Adrian Quincy raised his hand again, placing it on her head and pressing down slightly as he stood up and turned to leave.

Before he left, he tossed one last sentence over his shoulder: "Astoria Daily is a good choice. Good luck."
