I Married the President Chapter 8

Chapter 8: Chapter 8: She Knew How to Have a Showdown

Son of a bitch!

’How could such a shameless person exist in this world, and of all people, I had to be the one to meet him!’

’Claire Sinclair, where is your brain?!’

Just as she was fuming, her phone suddenly buzzed. A message had arrived on WeChat.

It was from Logan Linden...

"Claire, did you need something? I’ve been swamped and only just saw your call. It’s not a good time for me to call you back, so let’s just text here."

’Oh, so busy. So busy he had time to go get married and come back.’

Claire Sinclair wanted nothing more than to tear that damned scumbag’s disgusting face to shreds. Unfortunately, that shameless pair had already left the hotel. She had missed the perfect opportunity to catch them in the act, and for the time being, she hadn’t figured out how to confront him.

’Damn it, I must have been blind as a bat to fall for such a piece of trash!’

Thinking back on it, Claire Sinclair still couldn’t understand why she had even started dating this scumbag.

Maybe it was out of loneliness, or maybe it was for her pride.

Her older sister was the Sinclair Family’s only female soldier. After leaving the military, she started working at Quincy Manor, and the entire family took pride in her. But Claire Sinclair was mediocre and talentless. Everywhere she went, people compared her to her sister, causing her to develop a severe inferiority complex.

In college, she met Logan Linden. He wasn’t just her upperclassman; he was the campus heartthrob everyone admired.

They met in the student council. After countless club activities, Logan Linden grew protective of the insecure girl she was. Then, they somehow ended up together. Back then, many people said she had just gotten incredibly lucky.

Over time, Claire Sinclair grew accustomed to the envious gazes of others, to his meticulous care, and to confiding all her worries in him...

It turned out all those days and nights of emotional support were nothing more than a bad habit she had unintentionally picked up.

’Fine. At least she could see things clearly now. Once she broke this bad habit, she would be back on her own two feet again.’

’That damned scumbag was just after her two million, wasn’t he?’

Heh... She knew exactly how she would confront him.

Claire Sinclair quickly connected her phone to her computer, converted the video file, and transferred it to her phone.

After the video finished transferring, Claire Sinclair replied to the scumbag’s message: "What are you busy with?"

Logan Linden: "Didn’t I tell you? My company is about to go public. I was pulling an all-nighter at the office and didn’t have time to check my phone. I only just got a chance to look at it this morning."

’Yeah, right. Overtime in bed. Who does he think he’s fooling?’

Claire Sinclair felt utterly disgusted, but she had to hold it in.

’Since they were going to break up, she had to pick a public place to dump this scumbag and let everyone see his true colors.’

Just as she was wondering where to meet him for the breakup, another message came from Logan Linden: "Babe, it’s so late. Why are you just now replying? What have you been up to?"

’Babe my ass. It’s sickening!’

Claire Sinclair jabbed at her phone’s screen: "Nothing. I have something to tell you. Are you free right now?"

Logan Linden: "I won’t be free until later. What’s up?"

Claire: "I’m about to announce some good news to you. Let’s talk in person."

Logan Linden: "What good news?"

Claire: "I’ll tell you when we meet. Let’s meet at the coffee shop we always go to. I’ll wait for you there."

After sending that message, Claire Sinclair didn’t intend to say anything more, but Logan Linden quickly replied, "I’m actually here right now. You can just come over."

Claire Sinclair said no more. She walked to the side of the road, hailed a taxi, and arrived at her destination about ten minutes later.

Logan Linden was sitting at a window seat. He seemed to have been there for a while. In front of him were a laptop and a cup of cold coffee that was only a quarter full.

Seeing her arrive, Logan Linden waved. "Claire."

Claire Sinclair’s brow furrowed slightly. She walked over quickly, pulled out a chair, and sat down.
