In the depths of Chi Ming’s eyes, there was no trace of a smile. “Mr. Qin, everyone knows about your affair with your first love, leaving Miss Shen behind. If we talk about meddling and infidelity, Mr. Qin, what face do you have to judge others? Besides, Miss Shen has already signed a divorce agreement. I am pursuing her. What business is it of yours, as her ex-husband?”
Qin Zhen was infuriated but didn’t consider how this stranger knew so much about him and Shen Qingyue. He angrily retorted, “We haven’t divorced yet!”
“I know,” Chi Ming said confidently, “I’ll wait. Until you officially divorce, I won’t touch her. I’m not like you—I’m faithful.”
Besides, he had waited for so many years; a little longer would not make a difference.
Qin Zhen gritted his teeth. “Even after the divorce, it’s still not allowed!”
“Is Mr. Qin out of his mind? You parade outside with other women, but you want to dictate who your ex-wife should be with in the future? Do you live by the seaside?” A flicker of killing intent flashed in Chi Ming’s eyes—he had long found Qin Zhen unpleasant.
Qin Zhen was angry and wanted to argue, but someone behind him called his name. “Zhen?”
Wei Jiu’er entered their line of sight, smiling as she linked arms with Qin Zhen. “You suddenly disappeared, and everyone was looking for you. What happened?” She looked at Chi Ming and asked, “Who is this?”
Qin Zhen was filled with anger but did not say a word.
Chi Ming ignored her too.

Qin Zhen was unhappy, but with Wei Jiu’er present, he could not get entangled too much with Shen Qingyue and Chi Ming. He pulled Wei Jiu’er and prepared to leave, saying, “Didn’t they say everyone was looking for me? Let’s go back.”
In the end, he was going to divorce Shen Qingyue anyway. Whoever took that woman away did not matter to him!
Wei Jiu’er nodded hesitantly.
Chi Ming gave a ‘helpful’ reminder, “Oh, Mr. Qin doesn’t want your wife anymore?”
Qin Zhen, still seething with anger, blurted out hurtful words, “That promiscuous woman has nothing to do with me!”
After speaking, he left without looking back.
Chi Ming turned to close the car door but saw the person inside staring blankly out the window, lost in thought, before closing their eyes and drifting off to sleep.

At the old residence of the Shen family, Chi Ming had been there more than once and drove the car there effortlessly.
Shen Jun, upon hearing from the servant that his granddaughter had returned drunk, hurried downstairs.
Chi Ming carried Shen Qingyue slowly up the stairs, and when he heard the commotion, he looked up. He smiled gently, harmless and pure, without a trace of ruthlessness. “Grandfather Shen, it’s been a long time.”
Shen Jun’s previously furrowed brow relaxed, and his face softened. “When did you return to the country?”
“Today. I’ll take Qingyue upstairs first.”
“Mm.” Shen Jun made way. “Come to the study later and tell me what happened tonight.”
“Alright.”

Qin Zhen and Wei Jiu’er returned to their friends’ gathering, but their enthusiasm was lacking, and they disbanded early. Qin Zhen escorted Wei Jiu’er to the hotel room’s door. “Go inside.”
Wei Jiu’er held his hand and coquettishly said, “Won’t you come in and sit?”
Qin Zhen understood her meaning, and they had been waiting for a long time. However, he wasn’t ready to fully accept Wei Jiu’er just yet. He pursed his lips and said, “You’ve had a long day. Rest well.”
A hint of resentment flashed in Wei Jiu’er’s eyes. She had heard every word of the conversation between Qin Zhen and Chi Ming just now. Qin Zhen had been married to Shen Qingyue for a year, and she had not hurried back to the country. One reason was the Shen family’s influence, and the other was that she had already grasped Qin Zhen—he would not touch Shen Qingyue, let alone develop feelings for her.
However, now, her confidence wavered. A woman’s intuition was sharp, and Qin Zhen’s attention to Shen Qingyue had reached a level where she could no longer be ignored! And now, Qin Zhen still had not realized that if she did not do something soon, she might lose this man! She had invested so much time; it could not go to waste.
With these thoughts, she raised her head, tiptoed, and tried to kiss Qin Zhen’s lips.
Qin Zhen instinctively pushed her away and took a step back.
Hurt was written all over Wei Jiu’er’s face. “Zhen, why are you avoiding me?”
Qin Zhen fell silent for a moment. “Jiu’er, let’s talk about these things after I divorce Shen Qingyue, okay? I don’t want your reputation to be affected in the slightest.”
Wei Jiu’er clenched her fist tightly but quickly loosened it. She raised her head again, tears shimmering in her eyes. “When will you divorce her?”
Qin Zhen’s response was ambiguous. “I’m really busy lately. There are several multinational conferences I need to attend. It’ll be in a while.”
How could Wei Jiu’er not sense his hesitation? But she still kindly bid farewell to Qin Zhen and then instantly darkened her face.
