Shen Qingyue rolled her eyes and was about to leave when another car stopped beside her.
It was a green Ferrari, quite eye-catching.
Chi Ming’s pleasant voice came from the car, “Is someone looking for a ride?”
Shen Qingyue did not hesitate and directly opened the car door to get in.
“What are you doing here?” she asked.
Chi Ming smiled and said, “Are our hearts connected?”
Shen Qingyue replied, “…I’ve noticed how smooth-tongued you’ve become after going out for a while. What happened?”
Chi Ming pretended to sigh, “Well, I had no choice. You didn’t like my cold attitude before. If I want to pursue my wife, I have to change my strategy. So, you won’t lose out by being with me. I can be a versatile boyfriend, fulfilling all your desires!”
He winked at her, exuding charm, trying to win her over.
Shen Qingyue turned her head to look outside the car, unable to control the smile on her lips.
“By the way, why were you alone on the roadside when you were going to the banquet?” Chi Ming asked.
Shen Qingyue replied, “Shen Yiyan left me on the roadside and drove away by himself.”
Chi Ming nodded, his eyes gleaming with danger, then changed the topic of conversation.
Soon, the car stopped at the hotel entrance.
Chi Ming got out of the car and went to the other side to open the door for Shen Qingyue, but she had already gotten out by herself. He smiled and said, “Why don’t you even give me a chance to be a gentleman?”
Shen Qingyue playfully replied, “Sorry, I was too quick. Next time.”
She looked ahead and saw Wei Jiu’er holding Qin Zhen, about to enter the hotel.
Qin Zhen noticed the person next to her and walked quickly towards them.
“Did you forget what I told you?” he said.
Shen Qingyue sneered, “If you can bring Wei Jiu’er out, why can’t I bring someone along?”
Qin Zhen became furious, “Can he compare to Jiu’er?”
In his opinion, his relationship with Wei Jiu’er was pure and untainted, something that Chi Ming’s ambitious nature could not compare to.
Shen Qingyue was protective and immediately turned cold. “Indeed, how can your Wei Jiu’er compare to my Chi Ming? Is she worthy?”
Upon hearing this, before Qin Zhen could say anything, Chi Ming instantly transformed into a gentle and charming demeanor, as if immersed in a warm river of love. Though he remained rational and knew that Shen Qingyue’s words were out of anger, he was still happy.
Qin Zhen was instantly provoked and seemed like he was about to grab Shen Qingyue’s shoulder, but Chi Ming stepped forward, standing between Qin Zhen and Shen Qingyue. With his back to Shen Qingyue, his peach blossom eyes were smiling, yet freezing cold, as if he were standing on the edge of an abyss.
“With so many people watching, President Qin, are you really going to cause a scene?” he warned.
The news of Shen Qingyue and Qin Zhen’s divorce had spread widely, and with Qin Zhen raising his voice, many people around them had stopped to observe.
Suppressing his anger, Qin Zhen glared at them and turned back to Wei Jiu’er.
Chi Ming let out a sigh, almost unable to contain himself and expose his true nature…
Shen Qingyue thought he was upset about being belittled by Qin Zhen and tried to comfort him. “Don’t mind him. Qin Zhen is the type who can’t speak a good word. That’s just his character. Don’t bother with him, or you’ll get frustrated.”
Chi Ming blinked. “I know. I’m just worried about you. Why didn’t you realize it sooner? You wasted so many years…”
Shen Qingyue smiled and said, “Alright, stop teasing me. Let’s go inside.”
The banquet hall was already filled with many people. Shen Yiyan was chatting with someone when he caught sight of Shen Qingyue entering through the door, feeling somewhat surprised. He didn’t expect that little cunning woman to arrive so quickly.
Shen Yiyan walked toward her, sneering, “Quite impressive. You came so quickly.”
Shen Qingyue smiled kindly, “Just lucky.”
Suddenly, she lifted her foot and forcefully stepped on Shen Yiyan’s shoe with her sturdy heel.
Shen Yiyan grunted in pain, and several nearby people looked over. He endured the pain, indicating that he was fine.
Shen Qingyue spoke softly, her voice carrying a strong threat, “Consider this a little payment. Be careful if you dare to play these lowly tricks again!”
Then, she sweetly said, “Brother Yiyan, take me to meet today’s host, Mr. Bai, as my grandfather specifically instructed you to introduce me to him.”
Shen Yiyan looked at her fake smile and wished he could punch her. But with so many people around, he had to endure it, just as he could only resort to petty tricks behind her back. In front of others, he had to be a good older brother. After all, Shen Jun was still alive! He gritted his teeth and said, “Wait a moment.”
Shen Qingyue innocently asked, “What’s wrong?”
Shen Yiyan was itching with hatred. “My foot hurts, take it slow!”
