I Received System to Become Dragonborn Chapter 759

Veyna, having grown tired of chasing after Eccar, who kept slipping away, finally decided to go see Dredge. What could possibly have made that guy sound so desperate when he had always hated asking for help—from her or anyone else?

Veyna smirked. Maybe something truly bad had happened to him, something that had made Dredge lose his composure. She actually found that amusing. And since she couldn't make that Dragonborn fight her, she figured she might as well humor Dredge's request for help.

As she flew toward Dredge's location, she glanced down and saw that the Elven warriors had already slain a significant number of Ogres and Daemons. They were actually faring pretty well in this battle. It seemed they were indeed formidable warriors.

But in the end, none of that would matter. They might be strong, but Laston had yet to unleash his final weapon—the one he had specifically created to counter Dragonborn power.

However, as she approached Dredge, Veyna never expected to see what lay before her.

Her gaze shifted to the side, catching sight of a streak of fire plummeting toward the ground.

She narrowed her eyes, activating her cyber-enhanced vision to get a clearer look.

Then her eyes widened in shock as she realized what—no, who—it was.

Lord Laston is falling? But how? Veyna's mind raced with shock and, to her own surprise, a flicker of worry.

She never thought she would feel worry in a situation . Their victory should have already been assured. But now… what was this?

Her eyes focused on Laston's plummeting body. There was no mistake, he was also wounded. A sword was buried deep in his shoulder and from the way his body twitched midair, it was clearly affecting him.

This situation was dangerous.

Then, movement caught her attention. Someone was chasing after Laston. A lone Elf wielding a staff, flying fast, ready to attack him again.

Veyna hesitated. Who should she help first? Laston or Dredge?

For a brief moment, she considered the situation.

Dredge had sounded desperate earlier, but right now, he could likely hold on a little longer. Laston, on the other hand, was plummeting toward the ground, wounded and vulnerable.

If he fell, it wouldn't just be a setback, it could mean the end of everything they had planned.

Her decision was made.

She turned and shot toward Laston, pushing her speed to its limit.

Then, from the direction of the tower, a sharp noise rang out. Veyna's ears picked up the sound of energy crackling through the air. She glanced toward the source and her eyes narrowed.

The King of the Palace.

King Gulben was also flying toward Laston, his gaze locked onto the falling warlord.

Veyna clenched her jaw. This just got even more complicated.

Veyna extended her arm toward King Gulben, who had yet to notice her presence. A mechanical hum filled the air as a cannon emerged from her forearm. Without hesitation, she aimed and fired.

The energy blast streaked through the sky, closing the distance in an instant. But just before it could hit, a shimmering blue barrier flared to life around King Gulben.

The impact sent ripples across the Magical shield, but it held firm.

King Gulben gritted his teeth, his face twisting in fury. Just when he was about to deal with Laston, another enemy had chosen to interfere. His anger burned hotter—he had no time for this.

But no matter how infuriating this woman was, Laston was still the priority. If the warlord recovered, it could spell disaster.

His body surged with Magic and he pushed forward at even greater speed, ignoring Veyna as he focused solely on reaching Laston first.

From the corner of his eye, he saw Saeldir moving as well. The Elf was gaining on Laston, ready to strike the moment he got close enough.

Veyna cursed under her breath. She needed to move faster. If they got to Laston before her, it could be over.

She propelled herself forward, pushing her thrusters to maximum output, speeding toward the falling warlord.

A shiver of danger ran down her spine. Instinct screamed at her.

She turned sharply, her enhanced vision instantly locking onto the source of the threat.

The very one she had attacked earlier was now pursuing her, closing the distance at alarming speed. His presence was so intense now and his eyes were locked onto her with a wild grin on his face.

Veyna clenched her jaw. She suddenly being chased now.

Veyna's lips curled into a wild grin as she abruptly shifted course, turning her back on Laston and flying straight toward Eccar.

Excitement surged through her veins. Finally, she would get to test her power against one of the Dragonborn.

She had given him a chance to leave. She had ignored him, thinking he would retreat. But instead, he had chosen to chase her. That meant only one thing, he wanted a fight.

And she would give him one.

Their distance closed rapidly, the winds howling around them as they hurtled toward each other. Without hesitation, Veyna raised her arm, her cannon glowing with charged energy.

With a sharp smirk, she fired.

The crackling blast shot forward, cutting through the sky with searing heat. But before it could reach its target, Eccar merely lifted his arm and swung.

With a single motion, his brown-scaled hand smacked the energy blast aside as if it were nothing. The shot veered off course, exploding harmlessly in the air behind him.

Veyna's eyes widened slightly—not in fear, but in exhilaration.

"Oh… this is going to be fun."

A moment later, they clashed. Veyna relied solely on her enhanced body, choosing not to use any weapons against Eccar. They exchanged punches and kicks, each strike swift and brutal.

But then, Veyna felt something strange.

Eccar's strength was overwhelming. Far more than she had expected.

Before she could fully process it, Eccar's speed suddenly surged, his movements becoming a blur. He lunged forward, claws slashing toward her.

Even her cyber-enhanced eyes couldn't track him.

She barely had time to react before his claws tore through her energy shielding and slashed across her abdomen.
