I, the Ruthless Villain, Strangled My Fiancée at the Beginning and Left the Protagonists Terrified Chapter 71

As Shen Wuxiao stepped inside, his eyes immediately landed on the proud team leader standing nearby.

The moment the team leader saw him, his entire demeanor shifted—like a loyal dog greeting its master.

“Mr. Shen, you’re here!”

Shen Wuxiao nodded calmly. “Not bad. How is it going? Is Lin Fan being interrogated?”

The team leader was ecstatic. Shen Wuxiao had actually praised him! He was already imagining his next promotion before the New Year.

“Yes, Mr. Shen! A few people came from the Imperial Capital. Looks like they’re here to protect Lin Fan.”

“One of them is from the Supreme People’s Procuratorate. His name is Zhou Sheng. He’s completely shameless—he keeps calling Lin Fan ‘little brother’ like they’re family.”

Shen Wuxiao sneered. “What cats and dogs. It doesn’t matter—I’ll take a look myself.”

“Yes, yes, of course!” the team leader nodded quickly, brimming with enthusiasm.

Outside the interrogation room, several staff members were stationed nearby.

When Shen Wuxiao entered, Director Ye Jiancheng immediately stood to greet him.

“Mr. Shen, you came personally?”

“I came to see what’s going on.” Shen Wuxiao glanced toward the one-way observation window. “Are they still interrogating him?”

“Yes,” Ye Jiancheng confirmed, then gestured with a smile. “Please have a seat, Mr. Shen.”

He turned to a subordinate. “Xiao Liu, go brew some tea for Mr. Shen—white tea!”

Shen Wuxiao cast a sideways glance at him. “That’s thoughtful.”

“It’s my honor!” Ye Jiancheng said with a grin.

The observation room had a one-way mirror, allowing people outside to watch what was happening inside, while those inside couldn’t see out.

Shen Wuxiao sat down, crossed his legs, and peered through the glass.

Inside the room, Lin Fan sat handcuffed, facing three men and one woman.

But Shen Wuxiao didn’t even glance at Lin Fan—his gaze locked immediately on Hong Ye.

“She’s grown more elegant… and taller,” he muttered to himself with a smile.

Inside, the interrogation continued.

Lin Fan didn’t hide anything. He started from the day his brother was killed, explaining every step that led him to Zhonghai.

Of course, when it came to the accidental killing of Luo Han, he twisted the truth, subtly pushing the blame onto Shen Wuxiao.

The four people questioning him were no longer interested in Lin Fan’s version of the events.

What caught their attention was one name—Shen Wuxiao.

They were from the Imperial Capital. They knew exactly who Shen Wuxiao was.

The Crown Prince of the Imperial Capital.

“Lin Fan, this Shen Wuxiao you mentioned… is he from Zhonghai?” Zhou Sheng asked, his tone cautious.

His heart was uneasy.

When he received the order, he had left immediately. He knew Lin Fan well—an honorable soldier, the legendary Wolf King of the Tianlang Special Forces, a colonel with outstanding merits.

To Zhou Sheng, it had to be a setup.

Lin Fan was someone he trusted deeply. There was no way he would kill without reason.

But after hearing the full story, Zhou Sheng felt uneasy.

That name—Shen Wuxiao—was far too sensitive.

Even he, with all his backing, would have to tread lightly when facing the real Shen Wuxiao.

Lin Fan looked at Zhou Sheng and nodded firmly. “Yes. He’s a local from Zhonghai. He tricked me using the alias ‘Sikong.’”

Lin Fan still didn’t realize that the Shen Wuxiao he knew was the same one from the capital.

He only assumed that since Shen Wuxiao could control so much in Zhonghai, he had strong roots there.

After hearing that, Zhou Sheng finally relaxed.

Good. He’s not from the capital.

In a country with over a billion people, it wasn’t rare to share a name.

And besides, what would the real crown prince be doing in Zhonghai?

“Alright,” Zhou Sheng said seriously. “I understand your situation. We’ll make sure this is handled properly. I’ll issue an order to arrest Shen Wuxiao immediately!”

Zhou Sheng looked righteous. He was determined to clear Lin Fan’s name.

Another official from the Supreme People’s Procuratorate also voiced their agreement.

Only Hong Ye knew the truth.

This was Shen Wuxiao.

He had been living in Zhonghai for over two years, but he wasn’t from here at all.

Her department had only sent her along to go through the motions.

Lin Fan? Just unlucky.

Completely doomed.

As for Zhou Sheng? He had walked straight into a trap. Whether he’d get out unscathed was another matter.

But Hong Ye didn’t care. She didn’t have the energy to care.

Once Shen Wuxiao marked someone, he was like a tiger stalking prey. He wouldn’t stop until they were completely destroyed.

The interrogation continued.

Outside, Shen Wuxiao was done watching. He and Ye Jiancheng put on masks, grabbed a chair and two cups of tea, and walked straight into the interrogation room.

The door creaked open, and the room’s atmosphere thickened.

Zhou Sheng and the others barely acknowledged the newcomers, continuing the questioning.

Shen Wuxiao calmly placed a chair next to Hong Ye and sat down.

Then he handed her a cup of freshly brewed white tea.

Hong Ye, still scribbling notes, assumed it was just one of the staff.

She didn’t look up. Tea being delivered was normal during long interrogations.

Zhou Sheng briefly glanced over. His throat was dry from speaking so much, so he lifted his hand for tea—expecting it to be passed over.

But no one handed him anything.

He turned and realized: only two cups had been brought in. One went to Hong Ye. The other was for the man himself.

No rules! he thought, annoyed—but this wasn’t the time to argue.

Lin Fan was still talking and didn’t even notice who had entered.

Meanwhile, Shen Wuxiao sipped his tea, legs crossed, like a bystander enjoying a performance.

Hong Ye eventually noticed the man beside her.

Tsk. Why is someone sitting so close? Does he want to chat with me?

She turned, ready to scold him.

But the moment she saw his face—though dimly lit and partially hidden by a mask—she froze.

It was him.

The bad guy.

Shen Wuxiao grinned, leaned close, and whispered, “Ye Zi… long time no see. Did you miss me?”

Hong Ye’s cheeks flushed.

She looked away, flustered, then quietly extended her leg and gave Shen Wuxiao a gentle kick under the table—where no one could see.

But she still picked up the tea he’d poured and took small sips.

She was so flustered, she didn’t even know where she’d dropped her pen.

She tilted her head slightly and mouthed the words, “Why are you here?”

Shen Wuxiao wasn’t shy. He scooted his chair closer, leaned against hers, and whispered, “I came to see my little lover… is that okay?”

“Tsk…” Hong Ye blushed even harder, biting her lip.

This time, she quietly curled her slender fingers into a pink fist and punched his thigh.

“You’re still the same—shameless as ever!”
