The police and mercenaries worked together to scatter the refugees. When Jin Yang returned to the villa with Little Yu in his arms, he found that it was already empty.
“I’ll get you something to eat, okay?”
Jin Yang recalled some parenting books that he had previously read, and wanted to use food to placate Little Yu.

His gaze landed awkwardly on the corner of the window where Qiu Tong and Song Yan had been. He frowned and fell into deep thought.
Little Yu bit her red lips and sized up Jin Yang seriously. “Uncle Song Yan, are you really our Daddy?”
“Every time we encounter danger, you will appear to help us! Just like a hero in a fairy tale, a prince!”
After interacting with him a few times, Little Yu’s impression of Jin Yang had changed. She even felt that it might be a good thing to have him protect her mother.
Jin Yang paused and shook his head after a moment of silence. “No.”
“I just met your mommy not long ago. We didn’t know each other before. Don’t call me Daddy.”
Jin Yang raised his hand and tapped the tip of Little Yu’s nose. Seeing the loneliness in her eyes, his heart ached as if someone was tugging at it.
In the forest, Song Yan heard this conversation through the surveillance devices he had left in the villa. He leaned against a tree trunk with interest and frowned as he recalled the paternity test report that had been released from the hospital. “Strange, could it be that he doesn’t know?”
Song Yan recalled Jin Yang’s abnormal actions. If he knew the identity of Qiu Xingyuan and the other children, he would definitely bring them back to the official residence to take care of them.
