“I’m glad it will be convenient for me, but is that okay? …Chief?”

Chief Meis smiles gently. Personally, I thought it would be better to have a connection to Casemaian that involved an extra step rather than a direct connection to the port city, so I thought the village of Surz was a good choice. It’s about an hour’s walk from the village to the harbor fortress or about three kilometers in a straight line. By car or horse, this distance can be covered in a dozen minutes, and it’s also close enough for emergency response.
