Arc 3, Chapter 157 — Henry’s Warning
They say the future is always filled with boundless Mystery. Who can accurately predict what will happen a few seconds, a day, a week, a month, or even a year from now?
The atmosphere, though slightly relaxed, still felt choking. Sweat cloaked the skin of the onlookers as today’s events replayed in their minds.
It was official—today was probably the most thrilling and bizarre day in their lives!
Several people were confused, wondering where all this black dust came from. It was so much that it began resembling ashy paint scattered on the walls and floors.
Eh? Could it be that just like in the movies, these Ghouls have finally turned into dust from direct contact with the sunlight?
If Henry knew their thoughts he would sneer.
The sun does make them 20 times weak and slower, but they DON’T combust into flames that fast.
Vampires, no matter how weak they are, hold stronger resistance than many fairytales can lead one to believe. Even if Claudina didn’t take action, these ghouls would all combust on their own if they stood perfectly still under the sun’s rays for 5 minutes.
It was funny how biology worked, even Supernatural Biology. These Level 1 Ghouls instinctively know that 5 minutes is their maximum time.
One must never forget that Ghouls have the lowest Intelligence of all Vampires. So some of them were too slow to react, getting burnt and turned to ashes after the 5 minute mark.
Nevertheless, a select few surprisingly stopped out from the majority after getting burnt. These few acted fast under the sunlight, attacking their prey, before rushing back into shaded regions.
Then, when their burns are healed, they rush back out into the sun.
In the end, it seems that the movies weren’t entirely wrong about the sunlight thing.
Who knew something so ordinary could do so much damage to these creatures?
Level 1 ghouls can only last for 5 minutes before going off in flames and dying. Level 2 ghouls can last for 5 minutes, 10 seconds... and so on.
In conclusion, the higher a vampire’s strength, the longer it can stay underneath the sunlight unaffected. Of course, there were those like Dukes who were strong enough that they could also walk among the living under the sun.
It’s just that the sun weakened all vampires, no matter their strengths. They tend to be several times slower and their attack ranges also drop off too.
Hendry shook his head sideways.
If this were night time, do you think President Glandol and several others would have so much time up their sleeves to be in conversation with Henry, talk less of signing that contract?—No!!!
At night, the ghouls regain their true strengths and capacities. During the day, these Ghouls were also far dumber than they usually were.

If they wish to regain true strength in the daytime, they need rooms with Ultraviolet Rays blocking curtains and complete darkness to thrive.

Claudina didn’t even give them a chance to react, her chainsaw killing a few among those gathered.
"EXPLAIN yourself!" Glandol was both afraid and infuriated.
They’ve already signed the treaty. So what was the meaning of this? Why were they now killing innocent men and women?
Claudina said nothing in response, only displaying the bitten wounds and marks on the bodies.

Still, they dared not utter a word around this stunning but scary crazy chainsaw lady.
All the bodies were set up in flames after giving them swift deaths. Claudina had done a thorough job, ensuring nothing slipped past her.
Except for the blood and the ashes littered all over the estate, the place was now 150% clean.
Just then, they watched as more chainsaws brought in a LONG and unfamiliar luxurious Chopper towards the open clearing they were on.
Taking a deep draw from his nearly finished cigar, Henry let out smoke. Then, he threw the leftover bud coolly.
"Know this." He began. "We—the Church—have been diligently protecting mankind in the shadows since the beginning of time."
"Have you ever heard of a country called Kape Hoven?"
Glandol and several others shook their heads sideways.
Kape Hoven? Never heard of it. where is it?"
"Gone..." Henry’s words made them freeze. "They failed to reinstate their contract... and in under 4 months, the entire country turned into GHOULS."
So scary... Fortunately, it has just been 3 days since they terminated the contract. Imagine if one month had gone by?
Just when Glandol was about to ask more on the matter, his cellphone began ringing vigorously.
It wasn’t just him, as everyone’s cell phone no longer had connectivity issues.
