The Beirong Emperor allowed the eighth prince of Beirong, Ye Luyan, to enter the capital of the Ye Dynasty in order to spy there. The Beirong Dynasty was currently in heated discussion on whether to negotiate peace with the Ye Dynasty or start a war, as they found it a little challenging to put up with this fat sheep since the Ye Dynasty was the most flourishing nation around them and its weak defences were easy to take down.
However, other nationalities in the surrounding were all worried about the current situation of Prince Qiyang of the Ye Dynasty. This name of Xie Xuanchen was a living nightmare for them.
Wise people preferred discussing a settlement first and then making gradual arrangements as the situation developed, whereas the hot blooded one favoured announcing war as soon as possible.
Unable to decide, the Emperor Beirong could only give orders to conduct an investigation in the Ye Dynasty’s capital in order to get detailed information about the economical and military power of the Ye Dynasty. More than that, whether Prince Qiyang was still alive or not was the most crucial question, since his existence was the biggest hindrance to their ideal plan.
As soon as the Beirong Emperor ordered the investigation, many Beirong officials rushed to recommend themselves, in the end, Ye Luyan, who had been to the Ye Dynasty before, got the task.
When Ye Luyan reached the capital, it was just in time for the Lantern festival. Although he disdained the weakness of the Ye Dynasty, he had to say that the variety in culture, arts, and economy of the Han people were all very praiseworthy and worth taking note of.
Even with such a large population, the capital of the Ye Dynasty was celebrating the Lantern festival peacefully and grandly, but such a prosperous city belonged to a weak and incompetent Dynasty, which was another story.
Ye Luyan was very dissatisfied.
As Ye Luyan and his companions talked merrily, no one cared much about the accident happening on the street below. According to them, the Han prince had delicate looks and a weak physique, and his ability to adapt to the situation was extremely poor. In their eyes, that person was already dead.

Just as the vendor was feeling confident that he had succeeded, he didn’t expect Xie Xuanchen to suddenly turn around. Without even looking at the man, Xie Xuanchen immediately threw out a kick, sending the vendor flying out like a broken kite.
Amongst the screaming crowd, when the vendor’s accomplices saw everything, their expressions turned unsightly. They pulled out their weapons from under the carriage, the shelves, and their bodies. Taking an attacking stance, they rushed towards Xie Xuanchen at once. Xie Xuanchen was still standing beside Mu Mingtang, holding her with one hand. He didn’t even move from his place and only used one hand to block the upcoming attack. With a simple movement of his wrist, he twisted the arm of his opponent.
In a blink of an eye, all the people who came to attack Xie Xuanchen were rolling on the ground with serious injuries. Xie Xuanchen’s clothes didn’t even flutter much as he executed everything flawlessly with minimal movement.
Seeing so many assassins rushing toward her, Mu Mingtang closed her eyes in fear. When she finally opened her eyes, all she saw was the ground littered with a pile of injured people groaning in agony. Before she could process what was happening around her, everything was already over.
Mu Mingtang asked in a stiff tone, “Are they all done?”
“Yes.”
