Mu Mingtang choked after hearing Xie Xuanchen’s arrogant words, but she really couldn’t refute him. So she gave up on reasoning with Xie Xuanchen and went up to pick up the lock and looked carefully: “What kind of keyhole is this?”
‘He surely is super rich. Even a remote and unused back door has the most expensive heavy iron lock on it.’ Mu Mingtang sighed while trying to unlock the lock. “How to open this? We don’t have the key.”
As Mu Mingtang said, she looked around to see if there were any iron wires or hooks around that they could use.
While looking for the necessary items, Mu Mingtang addressed Xie Xuanchen: “You should also help me search for something to open the lock. Even barbed wire is fine. However, Xie Xuanchen stood still. He bent down to closely examine the lock and the chain.
Lock was not directly used on handles of the door as the door was too big. There was a chain going through the handles and then a lock clamped on the ends of the chain.
Xie Xuanchen used his hand to pick up the iron chain and then slowly straightened one of the links which made it up.
When Mu Mingtang, who was searching for something to unlock the gate lock, didn’t hear any reply from Xie Xuanchen, she turned around. As a result, she happened to see Xie Xuanchen casually breaking off one of the links of the chain.
Mu Mingtang was stunned, and watched helplessly as Xie Xuanchen casually pulled the iron chain away with a loud noise, and soon the iron lock fell to the ground.
After finishing his task, Xie Xuanchen looked at dumbfounded Mu Mingtang with an innocent look. “Okay~ It’s open.”
Mu Mingtang, who was still in shock, couldn’t utter a single word and looked at Xie Xuanchen without blinking her eyes.
If this kind of thing hadn’t happened in front of her eyes, she wouldn’t believe it at all… Mu Mingtang silently closed her mouth thinking: ‘Why did I waste my time looking for something when the ready-made lock destroyer is standing right in front of me?!’
As they opened the gate before anyone could come, they successfully escaped from the palace.
As Xie Xuanchen had said before, they only had to walk a short distance before they blended into the bustling local main street.
