The Emperor’s statement caused a headache for everyone as he kicked the ball to others, since he didn’t want to offend anyone.
If Wanyan Duo was a Han woman, she wouldn’t have picked anyone since she would have been too ashamed to lift her head after hearing such words. Wanyan Duo, however, was an incredibly brave Beirong woman, so she immediately turned her face to Xie Xuanchen’s direction and said, “This Wanyan Duo has heard of King Qiyang for a long time and wishes to serve by his side for the rest of her life.”

Mu Mingtang was stunned by Wanyan Duo’s words and thought to herself, ‘Is this legendary – watching a play with the crowd, only to find that your house is burned?’
Following Wanyan Duo’s words, the crowd became silent. Everyone turned to face Xie Xuanchen, and Wanyan Duo herself blushed as she looked at him boldly and enthusiastically.
Jiang Mingwei also expressed shock as she looked at Xie Xuanchen. If she recalled properly, Xie Xuanji’s harem featured a particularly alluring member in the original book. That woman stood out among the many attractive members in Xie Xuanji’s harem because of her talent and being from a different country. It was mentioned in the book that she was favoured a lot by Xie Xuanji.
In the original plot, it was mentioned that Emperor Xie Xuanji’s harem was full of beautiful women, and as the story continued, more and more alluring women were swept up in the harem’s tidal wave.
Although there were a lot of beauties, identities of only a few of them were revealed in the book. There was the main wife, Mu Mingtang, the foreign princess who was charming and scheming, and the white moonlight Jiang Mingwei, who lived in Xie Xuanji’s heart. One of the reasons Jiang Mingwei never took Lianhan seriously was the fact that even Lianhan, who was currently well favoured, had absolutely no mentions in the book.
